Hey guys I recently sold my 07' e92 335i (RWD) which I had lowered on KW V1. However, Last Friday I just placed a order for a 11' 335 xdrive coupe (AW M-Sport). While the wait for the car begins I'm looking to get some ideas in regards suspension setups. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the same KWv1 setup for the xi.

I've had the H&R sport springs for about 2500 miles with no complaints. Improved handling but not too harsh for daily driving.

Thanks guys, i'm leaning towards springs. Just because on my previous car (KW V1 setup) was very happy with them although that car never saw winter elements. Meaning that even on the highest setting the car sat pretty low. I was wondering if anyone had pics of H&R Sports / Eibach Pro Kit on a e92 xdrive. I'm going for a lowered look but not a slammed look this time around.

Gemstone335 I love the drop I have 09 335i Xdrive coupe and want the same look. I have been looking into different options and the Springs seem like the most cost effective way of going about it but I worry about the springs changing the ride. What are your thoughts how does your car ride after the drop.

Updated before and after photos. H&R Sports w/ stock struts; 18" 313's w/ 15 mm rear/ 12 mm front spacers. The H&R's with factory 17" run-flats were very pot hole sensitve. Much improved with the 18" non-run flats despite the decreased side walls. Still get a few pot hole whacks from time to time. Very decent handling on normal roads but the rebound after certain road undulations will lift me out of the seat. Not good. I plan to get Bilstein sports once the stock stuts fail.

Paring up an aftermarket spring with more aggressive spring rates will definitely cause your OEM non-sport or sport shocks to wear out over time. This is due to the fact that OEM shocks are simply not meant to handle the more aggressive spring rates. Think of it this way, you're putting a shorter spring with a longer shock body. The shorter springs will cause the shocks to compress to its maximum setting every time you hit a bump due to the longer travel distance. What this can cause is what's known as bump steer and jarring of the ride. This is what for the most part affects ride quality.

Let's break this down in terms of cost. You'll spend about $230-300 bucks for aftermarket springs, another $250-300 for an installation, and another $65-$125 for an alignment. When your OEM sport or non-sport shocks blow your going to have to spend another $700-800 on shocks, another installation fee, and another alignment. If you calculate that all together, you would saved a whole lot more money doing it right the first time around.

With that being said, I would most definitely recommend that you go with a coilover system and do it right the first time. The answer is simple; you get what you pay for when it comes to vehicle suspension. As such a crucial component of your vehicle, suspension is definitely something you do not want to cheap out on. A coilover suspension basically gives you a matched lowering spring and shock absorber combination with the added benefit of adjustable ride height and spring rates through a moveable spring perch or perches. Coilovers are to your car's advantage by reducing unsprung mass, increasing suspension travel, and allowing the car to be corner balanced. With that being said, I would recommend for you XI aka X-drive guys to check out KW coilovers. KW does make both the KW V1 xi and KW V3 xi models! Beautiful car, I love the upgraded look. I see you also added the blades on the lower side vents, are they from the 335is? How did you get them to stay on?

I ordered the trim from Tischer as an experiment.

Item: OEM BMW E90/91 Black Finisher Rod Set
Price: $15.50

I had to cut it to fit the E92 bumper. I 3M'd a bracket to the bottom and fastened it to the grille. It was a bigger pain than I anticipated but in the end it turned out OK.

2011 335i xDrive lowered on Eibach Springs only. I love it so far (I'm not into the slammed look) and these lowered it EXACTLY to where I wanted it!

I pined around a LOT before ordering the Eibachs. To me the drop is perfect.

They are 19" Avant Garde M359's. 235 front/ 265 in rear. The tires have a mild stretch but if I went wider I may have rubbed.

The Eibachs look surprisingly good. Its difficult to tell from the pics...do the Eibach springs have the dreaded "rake" where the front wheel gap is greater than the rear?

No rake at all. I had the H&Rs with the Bilsteins before and the rake was bad because it lowered the rears too much. This setup is perfectly balanced front and rear.
