Mayn! Those 6000K HID fogs look awesome! OP, do you have pictures of the 6000K D1S installed on our cars? I'm actually in the market for matching 6000K HID low beams & HID fogs. A picture of that setup if you have would be greatly appreciated! I was looking into sonic tuning's until I saw your post...

My jeep has the 6000 but they are a halogen housing. They have a slight tint of blue. The OEM color is 4300K. Thats all I can really do for you personally.

Maybe email the owner of HPB and see if he has any pics or maybe some other users of the kit will chime in.

Most 6000K kits should have similar color output, what distinguishes them on this car is A) if they work error free and if they have a clean cut off in non projector housing. Hope that helps.

pics never do justice because of varying white balances. as u can see some of my pics portray a tint of blue when they are really white.

Has anyone had luck with these ballasts and 2006 E90's that suffer from not only errors, but the low beam HID's turning off after a couple minutes?

From my research, yes, it should work.

As I mentioned in PM's they have had great success, however there are no absolute guarantees.

Software differences, model year build dates, ETC all factor into how and if they work for the Pre LCI 06-07 models.

08+ models dont appear to be have an issues last I heard.

Love the light output and I could see the road much clearer! Fred from highperformancebulbs is really helpful and patient in answering my questions. The kit comes securely packed. Everything is included and just plug and play. Highly recommended !!!! I got the 6000K bulbs. It looks yellowish in the pics but in reality, it is white with little hint of blue.

Thanks JPSlick for letting us know about this!
What headlight unit is this ?

I have jlevis and desperatly need a solution to my HIDs not working.. will yours allow the turn signals to work as well ?

Hi, I have an E90 made in 02/2006. Ive installed a HID system but I get the bulb error with the wirefix, but it goes away after 5 seconds. If I dont use the wirefix I get bulb error + service icon.

Is it possible to ship outside the US? Im int. in trying out the HID kit H7.

And how long does it take to "warm up" the bulbs when you start the car? Now it takes a few some seconds, and why does it take longer to "warm up" a aftermarket hid than factory xenon?

Thank you in advance

Ive tried RD, Mtec, and 2 different ones from HPB. None of them were visible in the daylight.

Ive yet to find one perosnally without going to spend an arm and a leg.

I hear Lux or OSS.

That is why I use yellow halogen bulbs, you can see them, its different, and it works.

I dont sell these personally, I just found the site. They arent a vendor on here yet. Go to the site and email them. I'm confident they wont ship outside the US, but you can always ask.

Okey, I've ordered another ballast. I'll try that first, if it does not I can return it.

I got a friend in the US, so he can help me

Update:
Update: I received a new ballast, HID kit H7 for my new headlights. No error and no error canceler needed. This is maybe because of the ASIC technology.
They look like this (picture below).

What are ASIC Controllers?
An ASIC ballast uses an ASIC chip controller with real-time lamp-monitoring & power compensation and Ballast protections, Under 0.5% low defect rate & over 3 years ballast life. eliminating the need for error cancelling attachments.

ASIC Can-bus ballast (no error messages on dashboard on BMW, mercedes VW etc).
ASIC chip controller, only HELLA & Matsushita use this analog type inside of HID ballast in the world.

But I cant be 100% sure if they work on your car. But they might. They did on my car and I had some problems earlier.

I hope this information was useful!

Yes, there are plenty of Can bus HID available. I've personally tested 4 or 5 different CAN-bus kits and some worked and some didnt.

It is safe to say they are not all created =, so be aware they may work on your car, but not necessarily other BMW's. (this is because of software differences from vehicle to vehicle likely).

Also the price is a bit more compared to a generic HID kit.

What we found from HPB, is that the one he uses does appear to fit on the majority of cars.

JPSlick,

Where do you recommend mounting the ballasts for fog light use in a coupe? I'd like to think all the work can be done behind the wheel well but I'm not entirely sure where to put them to minimize vibration and exposure to moisture.

Hi, there is no need to ground the HID ballast. What HID kit did you buy?
