13 Month wait is over (But I don't want it now)

Got a phone call from Audi Tamworth yesterday to say my RS5 had arrived would I like to confirm the spec and arrange collection.
Ordered this Car February last year 1st on dealers list and was promised it early October have made over 40 calls + emails and a couple of visits to the showroom with little or no response from salesman over the last 12 months when I last spoke to him end of January saying if the Car didnít arrive by 1st March with a good discount I would no longer be wanting it and would be expecting a full refund of my deposit.
Salesman I had been dealing with was now on long term sick so the guy sorting it out was a little in the dark as he couldnít find my paperwork (surprise surprise) as until this day I have never signed order spec sheet or put my name to any document relating to the Car. So after venting off my anger and him apologising about the service came back from a meeting with his DP to apologise again and tell me that unfortunately they would have to charge me full list price still.
Pointed out I could walk into nearly any Audi showroom and buy a RS5 now with a good saving on list how can they possible justify charging me full.
Could have taken it further but donít want the hassle so my deposits been returned and Iím driving round in a GT-R instead
Not completely given up on Audiís thou as I spoke to Northampton Audi today who have informed me my RS3 has been built and can be collected on launch day which is still to be announced (expected late Spring / early Summer)

It's a good thing you didn't buy it. My stock 335d gave one a run for it's money in Gloucester last Friday. Only beat me because he was happy to go a lot faster than 100mph.
Trust me he was giving it everything as he started our little race
Whereas a GTR would have hammered me with little effort!
Gd choice!
Out of curiosity why are you getting an RS3?
Such a plain looking RS that really doesn't serve a purpose imo.

Might have been a different outcome if it the roads had have been wet.
One hell of a Engine in the RS3 would have probably looked at the 1 Series M Coupe instead but need an Auto. The Audi seems to be taking quite a lot of flack as a dated shape and very expensive @ £40K but even along side the BM it works out nearly £3K cheaper after added the extras and if the BM had the auto would take it nearer to £5K more so I think itís quite good Value (Sat/Nav Bluetooth 19Ē Alloys Parking Sensors & Heated Leather Seats are all Std) if you specced the TTRS to the same degree would take it upto £52K Road tests that are coming out now do seem to be a bit more positive

Hmm RS4 & 5 unique cars with proper full time 4wd, but the RS3 is still Haldex 'budget' 4wd, so just a tarted up golf really IMO hardly worthy of the RS badge...

Great engine, but thats it for me.

Trust me....he was! He went past me at about 140 mph.
We came out of a round about and onto a dual carriageway at about 40mph.
I was about 50-70 metres in front of him. I gunned it to 100 mph and he came storming past after i stopped accelerating. But he wasnt catching me rapidly until i stopped accelerating. Whether or not he knew how to drive the car properly is another question

I love Audi, an A3 was my last car but would in no way take an RS3 over an RS4. It would be a different animal imo (N/A 4.2 V8). However i can see the appeal if that is the sort of car you are looking for.

Golden Valley bypass?

Be careful if it was... a few people I have worked with have ended up walking for a while after giving it significant beans down there.

No not the golden valley. It was the dual carriageway leading into the brockworth trading estate.
Funny you should say that, my father was goaded to give it the beans in his RS6 by coppers whilst going down the Golden Valley a few years ago. I keep it around 80 normally going down it!
