Im sure its the old one... can anyone confirm this for me??

Clear Bra looks great on it also (great freebie!)
Yes, unfortunetly, thats the old part number, which means they just replaced the pump for you with version 1. I call it version 1 since its the original pump that came with your car. Version 2 pumps a.k.a. the new redesigned pumps aren't out yet, or at least thats what my SA tells me. I hope they'll come out soon though. My car's still at the dealers waiting for a pump and I'd obviously much rather put in version 2 than version 1 on my car.

YO!

What is the symptom of a failing pump? I've seen so many fuel pump threads, I'm a bit confused. I know complete stall is the symptom of a total failure.

My car is currently having the difficulty starting up issue. It turns over several times before the engine starts. Is this a symptom of this dying fuel pump problem???

So percentage wise, it's still a small % in relation with people with no fuel problem. I'm just trying to see what's the number against let's say out of 100 members, maybe 1 got a problem, right?

Damn it all to hell!!!

So, I'm the guy who had my car in the shop for 28 days after the dealer botched my alarm installation and bricked my ECU.

So if I have to take the car in for this, I will be well beyond the lemon law limit for California. What should I do?

Loaner while the car is in the shop for 8 weeks

Please make sure to ask for:

Kia

It's a good, solid car that will not let you down.

If you dont mind the hassle, lemon it...

My car is leased, and I got a 335i loaner... so I wont push the lemon thing on them... BMWFS owns the car anyways...

If my car was not a lease, I would lemon it.

Yep, thats how it starts. My car lasted 4 weeks until I got the car into service. I told them what the problem was (from reading this forum and my symptoms) but they still took 4 days to finally realize and order a fuel pump.

Are you telling us that you think that 30% of 335's will have fuel pumps that fail. Surely that is recall territory???

I am sure its a lot lower than that, but thats what this poll suggests.

there are over well over 500 cases of it so far, and the number is growing quickly... some have even said that ALL pumps will fail in a matter of time.

It is recall territory, but BMW will not officially announce the recall until they have a fix for it. I am sure the fix required some redesign and manufacturing tooling changes on the new pump and that is what is taking so long. Once they start producing the new pumps they will be readily available to all.
