is NEXTGEN the wave of the future

Valvoline says it's approved by all mfg., 50% recycled motor oil.

I can understand caring about the environment, but unless it's 50% cheaper, why would anybody put it in their crankcase? Oh s***, I just realized if someone leases, why would they care? And they can feel good about helping the environment too....

The Bob Is The Oil Guy people are saying the crude oil they make "normal" oil out of is far nastier than the used oil they start off with this stuff. It's also meets API SN spec so, it performs just as good as non-recycled oil.

I just bought some for my E36. Valvoline has a pretty decent rebate on the stuff now.

Interesting, I mean it's a great idea of course, just should we pay for it....it took a while for marketers to have a slam dunk with 50/50 water/antifreeze premix. That was genius, water down the coolant, and it saves the mfg. 50%, and charge the same, spinning it that most Americans can't figure out what 50% water and 50% coolant would be to mix it themselves anyway...

Does it have a LL-01 stamp on the bottle?

If not, then this discussion is completely academic as this stuff doesn't work for our cars.

It is like discussing the Kung PAO chicken based, Paulaner enhanced, maple syrup oil.

Somewhere in the future recycled fuels will be the norm but for now, the Valvoline product is NOT suitable for our cars.
