I don't know body work but as others have said, Phil is a perfectionist who knows his stuff and doesn't BS. I'd trust his recommendation if perfection is what you're looking for. Maybe seeing it in person will yield a different opinion though.

My cable finally showed up. Had a chance to code the digital speedometer. It'll take me a few tries to get the hang of it but I'll be open for free coding in a few weeks

I don't have an e60 to test out myself. I don't think it would be that much more difficult since it's the same process....I just can't try it out on my own car first.

Digital Speedometer(non corrected)
Fold mirrors with comfort access on lock
Shift suggestion
Disabled iDrive disclaimer warning

Tomorrow's coding:
Close windows/mirrors with Keyfob
Wiper cycle on engine off
iDrive default screen entertainment

How hard has it been to learn how to code? Is it just like learning a programming language?

I would think that its simpler than that. I would think that its a matter of having the software to do it and then knowing what the codes mean. But I am sure someone else can chime in with their experience.

I need a little more time testing things out. I've pretty much got the coding part down but I need to update my files (somehow) and test out the error code reading part. Still need to get a little more comfortable with everything before jumping on another person's car. I'll create a new thread when I'm ready for other people.

It's nothing like programming. We are literally pulling all the options from a module and setting the ones we want to active. Once we activate all we want we then flash the new code back to the module. Easy as pie....except it's all in german(literally).

Financial IT. Well not necessarily in finance but IT (networking, servers, etc).
