Maintenance Work / Cost After Warranty

I currently have a 2008 335xi coupe with 34K miles. The warranty ends at the end of October. What maintenance work / costs should I expect after my warranty ends?

I would get a new 335 as I love the car and free maintenance but want to wait for the new one to come out.

My car has been outta warranty for two years now. Only cost I have incurred were oil changes and four rotors pads and sensors, all of which i did myself. Nothing on labor just parts. Thank god knock on wood nothing serious has occurred. Now watch tom my engine will be laying on the floor when I go to work.

Edt: Just went out to check. Engine is still in the car ftw

Haha I'm glad your engine is still in your car. It's nice to see your good luck with evading the stealership. I wonder what problems others have experienced with there bimmers after warranty.

I just had my last visit to the dealer, as my extension will be up in 4 days.

From now on I'm seeing the indy literally down the street from my house.

On my 1999 E46, the major items between 50k and 100k miles were brakes, tires, A/C leaks ($1,100), Control Arm Bushings ($1,000) and one wheel bearing ($350).

But your answer really depends on whether you follow BMW's schedule, Mike Miller's schedule, or something in between - and whether you use a dealer, indy or DIY.

I will be using an independent dealer and following BMW scheduled maintenance. BMW will be replacing
my front brakes and rotors before October. I just got my new dws tires so those are good. Besides rear brakes and rotors which I will need shortly after the warranty ends what is recommended by BMW after 40k miles? My car will be out of warranty in October with 40k miles.

I would see if you could get them to warranty the brake fluid flush. Also check your blades and cabin and engine filters. Anything they can pay for under their "No cost maintainence" program is better for you. Other stuff really depends on your budget and driving habits.

If you beat down on your car I would flush and change the tranny filter and differential fluid also. I just did a coolant flush but really wasn't necessary. Coolant came out almost clean enough to drink. More piece of mind than anything. BMW has high hopes on some of their stuff by only recommending things be changed at 50 and 100k miles intervals. It's a car in my eyes and things degrade and break. They break even quicker if you have that set it and forget it mentality and not check on things and stay up on them. So again it's all coming down to your pocket and driving type. Pay a little now to maintain or pay double, maybe triple if it breaks is how I see it.
