Ordered my 330i, some questions

First of all e90post rockz

I've ordered my BMW 330i last week.
Most options are included, it's with an AC Schnitzer kit.
How long did you guys waited for your new car in Europe?

Does anybody know a cellular for a GSM network with absolutely NO problems with the BMW bluetooth system?
I was thinking about an Motorola Razr v3 black.

Somebody has experience with the automatic/tiptronic system of BMW? Any disadvantages?

I'll post some pictures of my car when I got it.
The guy of the local dealer said it would take 8 weeks, but they couldn't specify a day.
Do they call later on with a more specific date?

Kind regards!

ps: somebody knows some more videos of the BMW 330i? (or 325i?)

I waited 4 months from the order date due to a strike at the Frankfurt factory, at least thats what my sales rep told me. I'm thinking around 2 months should be the normal waiting period from order to deliverey in Italy. It seems that your car is much more well equiped than mine so it might take a bit longer. Congrazioni Danny and welkomen to E90Post.com.

Danny, I have a Nokia 6630, which doesn't transfer the phonebook over to the car. So I went back to using my old Sony Ericsson T610. Haven't had any problem with it using the e90's bluetooth & using Orange in the UK.
The best thing is the way the whole address book, including multiple contact numbers, get transferred to the car.
Now all I do is use the voice recognition system to make calls- I say 'Dial name' then I just say the name as it is in the phone book & then I say 'Yes' once the car recognises the name & asks me if it should dial that person. The audio system is muted & a few seconds later I'm talking to my friends!
If somone in my phonebook dials when I'm in the car, it displays their name as it appears in the phonebook before I choose to accept the call.
I just love it!

By the way, I ordered my car through a German dealership in June & it took 3 months before it was ready, in September.

Hey Danny,

Welcome and congrats. My V3 on Vodafone teamed up with my car instantly and has been perfect ever since. The BMW auto you speak of is called Steptronic and yes it is a lot of fun, contary to what the manual folks say (no flaming please, he ordered an auto and letting him know about the auto). Only possible minor disaadvantage is that it is a little slower to 100kmh than a manual but it has masses of torque anyway.

You can call your dealer in a few weeks and ask him about the cars status.

All the best.

Ok just one more question about the automatic shift.

Example: if i'm using the tiptronic system and i'm in 3th in 6000rpm, what happens if I accidentely shift back to 2nd in place of 4th?
Or will the system just deny this action?

Thanks a lot on you replies!
I really hope it won't take longer then 2 months...

Welcome Danny, nice choice!

Regarding the automatic:

System will deny action and protect engine from overreving.

Same if youre hitting redline in manual mode, system will shift to next gear.

Hope you get your baby soon

OK!

Anybody knows if you can find out what's the status of the car without your local dealers in Europe? (Belgium...)
A site like "owner circle", but then for Europe?

Also, I found in this forum that the navigation systems in Europe can show up accidents...
Is this included in the Professional Navigation?

Kind Regards!
My order was placed yesterday, how much of a chance it will be here at 1 february?
One advantage, the car doesn't have to wait for a boat like all other owners in US

Yes, it definitely is! This function is called TMC (traffic memory channel) which is feeded by the traffic programs of radio stations.
It shows every road hazards on the map or written in a list.
You also get warnings via navigation-voice if trouble is ahead on your route.

I guess you also get it with business navigation, just without the map.

You can count on Sony Ericsson mobiles (with the exception of the early Symbian operating system smartphones) to be 100% compatible. I was using a SE T610, but now use an S710a which is great due to the very large screen and high res. (relatively speaking for a mobile) camera. The T630 also works (I have one of those also but prefer the S710a).

What's the differents with the s700i? (can't find s710i).

How about battery life?
Can you work 1 full day while using bluetooth and some conversations?

Everything works without softwareupdates?
