Dealers regularly wipe the map. You just have to redo the process - we do not charge you for this service. |

Is it a fully remote process, or does that deal include a rolling road session? Thanks sim |

It is fully remote but you can come to Luton HQ and have a rolling road session for an additional £50. |

Remap / switch for 335i 56 plate
Hi Imran,
I think you say in a reply above that there is an outstanding offer for forum members until the end of May for 335is? Grateful if you can confirm options available for a 56 plate 335i; remap and switch possible and costs/benefits of each route? I live fairly close to Luton so traveling to you wouldn't be a barrier. I would also be interested to know whether evolve recommend whether formally or informally any particular insurance companies to cover remapped cars? Many thanks in advance, Matt |

A lot of our customers have used A-Plan insurance for modifications and have received good quotes over the years. |

I'm not quite clear on whether there are different 'switches' or is the Evolve-R cable one latest version? Finally thanks for the pointer to A-Plan. I will check them out. |

It would save you having to visit us after the dealer updated your ECU. |

I personally could refer to you 5 customers in the blink of an eye that want it done and include me and thats six!! You wont ever get demand while customers like us think that you are lethargic in developing a solution. It has become such a goldmine business that the SuperChips rep from New Zealand flies to Australia to remap 320Ds every 6 weeks at $1000 a pop... he averages 10 cars at a time.... not bad for a one off trip to OZ - $10k per 6 weeks - pure cream for his proper business in NZ. Evolve Technik in Australia can do the direct ECU upgrades also, sadly they too are not in touch with the real world and charge $1,800 for a remap. Seems to me and others there is PLENTY of demand for these devices, it just sadly is unavailable due to poor customer focus (and not demand)... and in the explict example of the Australian operations - no idea how to price a product for volume sales. If I were you, I'd be making a solution for the 320Ds an absolute priority - then you will see what true 'demand' is all about.

The issue with the 320d is not a small one - it has new encryption that no one has been able to bypass via the OBD port. I know the exact "reason" for this and until this "reason" is resolved you will not see an OBD solution from anyone for a while. The 320d for whatever reason has always been the BMW diesel we tune the least of. We have probably tuned 20 times as many 335d's and 15 times as many 330d's. In Oz the situation is probably different due to the 320d actually costing more than it does in the UK? Last edited by Imran@Evolve; 05-23-2011 at 07:34 AM. |

Thanks to Imran and other forum users for their views. I'll report back on my experience which as I say will be my first engine remap. The car is otherwise stock. Onwards and upwards! |

£535 sounds like a bargain for the switch remap. I have a 2008 LCI 635d - will this work on it? If so, how soon can I get it booked in as I have no idea where the ODB port - family in Luton so can pop over most weekends if that works? Thanks, |
