Hope im in the right place

After stripping down my N57 following a spun bearing, almost definitely due to oil starvation, I found big flakes of paint from the thin steel plate attached to the timing chains cover in the oil pick up pipe. Has anyone come across this before? seems to be a massive design fault

Hopefully that's not an oil stain on the ground

I picked up a Tune2Air Bovee WMA3000B locally off FB Marketplace, what a life changer to have clear Bluetooth audio and retain Steering wheel controls. FYI, calls still come out from the vehicle phone Bluetooth, and it transitions seamlessly after the call is hung up back to the music. I have a Non-iDrive model, and all the meta-data along with random/repeat and playlist info is displayed on the screen. To note, I have an iPhone, life changer and I would highly recommend to anyone, even at its new retail price!

The Llumar IRX is kinda' spendy at $485. Ceramic or regular dyed are less expensive, but I really wanted to keep the heat out living here in the IE. Coastal folk probably don't need it IMO, and can save a few $$$ there.

Replaced passenger side halo bulb that had burnt out (halogen headlights). Because it's a N51, I had to remove the secondary air pump because the pump blocks the headlight cover from being removed and there's no clearance to get a T15 in.

Also heard what sounded like loose wiring in the drivers door panel, so figured I would take it off to see if the tape holding the inside wiring to the door panel had fallen off and was banging. Was greeted with this loveliness from whoever the PO had work on the car. Replacement vapor barrier and door panel clips on the list now.

Aluminum flange has been leaking for months.

O-Ring was completely hardened, craked and deformed.

Was it a Rein O-Ring? Just wondering if I need to plan to go back in there at some point or have a spare on hand. Figured I would have been all set once I upgraded to the aluminum flange.

I cant say for certain, but it is either Rein or URO. Was a while ago and got it from my mechanic when he did my rad.

I had the same problem on mine, and when I put it back together used a light coating of Permatex "right stuff" on the flange where it meets the engine. Hasn't leaked since.

CA amd remote never worked on ONEOF1, PO had given up on it.
when I first got it I checked all the hatch wires and they were already repaired.

Last weekend took the spoiler off amd checked the diversity module, it had a junkyard e70 module in it that looked ok with only tiny spot of corrosion on back of board, but I had 12v on all terminals except the one that is supposed to be 5v amd it was 5V.

Got a replacement e70 module in and installed it during my lunch break, and CA worked again, then just had to do the key in, ignition on, remove key and hold unlock while triple pressing lock and bam. It all works.

Tomorrow I will install the siren module to finish the other half of the alarm install.

Flashed a euro 330 tune to the 328's GM transmission. Not fully sold on it, but I'll give it some time to adapt before I try a different ZB.

Also bought and installed xDelete on it as well. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner tbh

Washed, repolished the headlights.
Also retuned the audio system to reflect the Mr12Volt. So much less harsh than the combox, the audio DAC in the Mr12Volt is way better!
