I have the COBB v2 and a PTF tune with nothing but 94 octane. Makes the car a total beast.

Here is a picture with the wheel on and caliper done as well as my plastidip'd badges. Car is dirty but you get the idea. Whole key with calipers is the prep. I used a dremel as well as a pneumatic right angle sander with a small cookie disk to sand down the casting seams and smooth out the caliper. Another tip is to take of the rattle clips and prep them separately and spray them with a different color. Was going to do red but am very happy I chose silver. They look like they were factory sprayed.

I put some VRSF dps on mine. It sounds amazing. Not much louder than stock under 3500/4000 rpm but when you nail it, sweet jesus it sounds effen great!

I just installed VRSF dp's today on my is. I can't attest to the power yet because the car is still on jack stands, but I cranked it up this evening, and with the jb4 and bms intakes, it sounds MEAN. It's deeper and throatier with a well defined whine of the turbos.

I had an '07 335i with AR catless dp's/stock mufflers prior to my is and it had mild drone at highway speeds and a little rasp at higher rpm's in the lower gears. I never had any complaints.
Although, I imagine the is muffler will produce slightly more drone and be raspier in the same rpm band. If so, a pair of variant resonators should help, at least with the rasp. The drone, you either love it or hate it. We'll see how loud it is. I can provide better feedback this weekend once all the work is complete. |

Can anyone with a FBO+tune give me an answer on this. Do you have to change out your exhaust to accommodate the increased hp/tq and exhaust flow? Or is the stock performance exhaust good enough? I'm not referring to the down pipes, diverter valves, ect. but everything behind that.
