When I got my PPK early last year with install and taxes at BMW of El Cajon was under $650. I know I didn't get the new engine cover or filter, but at that price I didnt care... just replaced OEM filter with BMS CAI, it was one of my first mods. In other words those who are trying to get a good deal really need to look for those remote dealerships that are not informed of the demand for this product/service. |

all right, question...
i'm reading a BUNCH of horror stories on f30 post with people having to leave their cars at the dealership for days because they need a new DME. is this happening with this chassis or is this only an f30 issue? thanks so much, guys. |

I have a 2012 335i x drive coupe with Dinan Stage 2 flash, Dinan exhaust and Stage 2 suspension on Enkei PF01 with 18" Bridgestone Pole Positions. . Dinan says 361 HP. Runs and handles great but wish I could have a little more HP, maybe another 25-30 HP. Anybody have any answers? (The Dinan Stage 3 requires a Dinan intercooler. That's another $2000. Don't think I'm up for that much more.)

Yes. I agree. I just applied PPK1 to my 2010 and it is fantastic. The 2010 is missing the switch on the console to place it into Sport mode. Still worth it the rumble is sweet.

PPK: exhaust noise at higher revs
As far as I can tell this thread is the most knowledgeable information base of N55 PPK users , so I would like to hear your experiences on the following:
Many of you report that the car gets louder after PPK installation; I drive my N55 with a PE since a year now and like it a lot (European model, therefore exhaust flap still in place). As far as the people report here the exhaust switch is less often closed with the PPE; however, this might be a good thing at lower speed / when accelerating, but isn't it annoying at higher (70...90mph) speeds? My question therefore: did your cars get louder in this speed-range as well? Or did the BMW-Engineers think about that and leave it active there? |

Hi there!
I have the PPK and a PE. I didn't notice it being louder after the Installation of the PPK Software. My flap is disconnected and it doesn't appear to be "to loud" at higher speeds! At 100 mph the wind noises get the upper hand anyway...

i didn't notice the ppk making my performance exhaust any louder, either. if you have a manual, though, the ppk makes a big difference in the usefulness of sixth gear!

And you want to tune it... I would invest in a good oil cooler... But that's my opinion and i want to drive my car for a few years...

Yeah, what he said. You are in Chicago so it is not real hot there but I would not run a tuned N55 without an oil cooler. All you need is the factory cooler and a new front passenger wheel well liner. Cheap insurance.

I don't think I can install a oil cooler without replacing the oil filter housing. I don't have the ports on the front of it to connect the hoses. Lust looking for a little more power since the convertible top adds 400 lbs to the car. Not looking for crazy track tuning here.
