i had the tire insurance on my E46 cab, and I claimed three tires/rims in three years. I got it again on my E93. I know i might not ever use it, but i have the comfort that if one tire goes in three years it's covered, and i'll have paid for the one tire.

My suggestion.... get it.

So, do they cover any aftermarket wheels such as the winter wheels if I got a scratch / nick on them?

Just had a "bubble" on a side of my Dunlop M3 DSST on non-OEM rims - replaced with no problem. Saved me about $380... This insurance worth every penny.

My claim was on a non OEM rim, and non runflat tire not stocked by the dealership, they had to buy it from the same place I originally bought the set. They warranty the 'original' set of rims and tires and whatever your winters are. The rim portion of the warranty isn't as easy to claim on, basically if the rim will no longer hold air they will look at it, scrapes, scuffs dents etc aren't covered. I paid $500, that has now changed and their hands are tied and it's more expensive now, even at 7-8 hundred dollars I personally think it's worth it, I've already cost them $400 and I think I might have damaged another one on a pothole again, so, hopefully it'll be covered again... I'll let you know when they've looked at the pictures of the suspect tire

They do not cover cosmetic damage on the wheels only structural

Thanks in advance,

Martin
I paid $700 and a friend paid $750 while others are paying less here from what I see (and dont forget that I paid 479 for my other car in september) , my guess is they are charging whatever they can get away with so negotiate and tell them your friend got it for cheaper and you will go and get it at another dealer ( you can do that )

I dont know, but i would be surprised that they would change all 4, your best bet is to ask them ( and let us know )

Last week I damaged my RFT – big bubble on the side. Roads here in Montreal are something special. One of my Dunlop M3 DSST from tirerack installed on aftermarket rims was replaced no questions asked. Bill was just under $400, which I didn’t have to pay a cent. I’m afraid such damages are likely to happen here every year, so I’m fairly happy I got that insurance.

Does noone know the answer to my question?

What if you have 20,000 km's on the tires, and you wreck one. You're not supposed to put on a new one with 3 old ones like that, so would they give you 4 new ones?

I was looking at my tire insurance document and the finance guy wrote down all of the details on the brand and size of rubber as well as the rim type. So after reading PushingTin's comment, is my insurance covering more than what shoes the car came with when I bought it?

I believe Parkview wanted $799 for the tire insurance. Did anyone pay lower than this price recently?

Garage List
2015 M4  [0.00]
$599

was offered $699 from BMW Mississauga - when I said I would think about it, they offered $599 if I take it with another insurance.

I think they will do $599 + GST even if its the only insurance I buy. Will decide closer to the time my car arrives. I am getting the 162s with 18 RFTs so it might be worth it.

What have people been paying for this coverage lately? I am taking delivery sometime in the next week and going back and forth on weather or not to get the tire insurance. I am worried that the amount of pot holes we have had in Chicago after a rough winter will result in problems with my RFTs. Please let me know what you paid and if you think I should get it.

GET IT. I was at Parkview today getting one of my RFT's replaced (it had a nail in it) and they noticed that I had another nail in my passenger side rear tire and they replaced that one as well. So I got two new tires today - insurance paid for itself. I normally don't buy insurance when I buy products, but given the state of the roads in Toronto and all the construction going on, I think it would be short sighted if someone didn't get the insurance. Just my $.02.

I'll be calling my dealership tomorrow making my first claim for a nail in my driverside rear tire. Drove this morning and heard the alarm chime go off. At first I thought that the weather wasn't cold enough for it to go off and then I saw the red tire sign. Checked the air when I got home and it was down to around 25 psi. I've just 7 months left in my tire insurance.

Whats the turn around time for getting a new tire?

What will happen as far as the other rear? You'll replace it at your own cost I assume? I assume the mileage is quite high on the other rear tire and you can't drive with a new / old tire combo in the rear?

When I bought my 335i 2wks ago they wanted 1100 for this insurance! (My car has the 19s). I decided it wasn't worth $1100...i might've gotten it if it was cheaper since I plan on swapping to non rft's anyway.

you know just because they wanted $1100 doesn't mean that is a firm price. everything can be negotiated.
