You negotiate ABOVE the invoice price, not below. Don't even worry about Stateside pricing, its irrelevant. After you have the total invoice, or cost to the dealer, you add a profit (somewhere between $1000 to $1500). Tell them you will pay $1200 over E. D. invoice. That's a pretty good sized chuck of change considering I know of many U.S. cars that are being sold BELOW invoice right about now.... |

OK. Got it. Thanks. I guess this theoretically means I can now afford a base 6-spd. 330i, which comes standard with two of the three main options I'd like (zenon and Logic 7). I'd really only have to add the sport package, and combined w/ non-metallic paint, this will only cost me slightly more than a 325i stateside. If the order takes a month or two to fill, I'll just go on priceline and arrange a cheapo (relatively) trip to Germany. I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why isn't everyone doing this?

I got mine for $1088 over invoice. Some dealers are willing to do less (lowest I've seen is $750 above invoice) but that's in IL. For Northeast, the lowest is $1088 above invoice.

e90fanatic--That is a great price. Most of the posts I've seen are targeting about $1500 over ED invoice so you did really well. Hope I can do as well.
I've seen some people comparing an ED invoice plus price with a US MSRP. You can find dealers who are willing to sell at US invoice plus. |

I have a question for those of you who have already done your ED. Did your car come with floor mats at the delivery center? I neglected to negotiate floormats as part of my deal. I have to go to the dealer tomorrow to finalize paperwork and payment, but I don't want to pay for floor mats if they're going to come with my car in Munich. Thanks!

These posts might be of interest to you.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9430 As you will see, RichReg mentioned that you get carpeted mats doing ED, and according to RichReg, better versions than the kind you would have to pay for here. However, I'm not sure if his experience was with the e90, I thought maybe he was speaking of a previous ED trip for the previous generation 3 series. If anyone can comment on the mats for Euro Delivery, it would be much appreciated. |

Why is that? I'm not sure what order confirmation means. From what I've read on the boards once you order your car it takes a couple of months to build. But that would put you in early August at latest.

I just picked up my E90 on May 25th and there were rubber-backed carpeted mats in there, not foam backed berber with BMW logos. IMO, they are of a better quality, just no logo which, isn't really a logo, just the letters 'BMW'. A few years back, before the law suits started piling on, I got 4 floor mats with hand-stiched BMW Roundels on them for my 323Ci. Not going to give those up. Also, you do NOT negotiate for E.D. floor mats. They are now included in the European Delivery program because they are insured. So even if they somehow get lost on the way back to the U.S., the dealer will be reimbursed by BMWNA because the insurance that you get covers them against theft. If anything, some dealers should now LOWER their price to make up for the fact that they now don't have to provide them, whereas with domestic deliveries they do. As far as getting $1000 over invoice, yeah, its possible but VERY rare. I personally think that most people that get $1000 over invoice have usually purchased from that particular dealership before. So I don't have to ask for floor mats right? I haven't purchased from my dealership before though

And if the dealership gives floor mats to everybody else that buys their car domestically, ask for another $100 off to make up for it, or some other accessory. As far as 'over invoice', this part is up to you. You can try for $1000 over, but you may not get it. I think $1200 over invoice is reasonable for a 1st time BMW buyer. But test the waters ....see how low you can go. Good luck. |

If my local dealerships (both owned by the same guy) won't negotiate on the standard ED pricing, can I lease a car outside of the state that I live in? Have any of you done this? And if so, how are taxes and licensing dealt with? I'm more than willing to offer $1200 - 1500 over ED invoice, so if this can be done, please post the names of the dealerships that will negotiate ED prices. (I'm in the Detroit area) Thanks!

I got mats with my E60 and they were very "thin" compared to the mats here in the US with the BMW logo. That said, they are "free" with your ED. I later purchased the OEM rubber front mats and swear by them. They hold lots of dirt and shake out easily. They are easy to hose off and dry with a towel. I'm getting them for the E90. These you buy at the dealer here....under $50 for a front pair.
Got my ED paperwork signed the other day. $1000 over invoice, 0.0029MF (.0025 base rate plus .0003 for ED plus .0001 dealer add), Zero cap reduction, first payment + 450 lic/fees Total out of pocket including first month lease payment $930. Three year/30K mi $569/mo incl 7.75% tax Second month lease payment is "free" in the ED program. See sig for details on car.

Also, I just wanted to warn you about Erhard BMW in Bloomfield Hills. Please read my posting in the Dealer Ratings/Reviews forum. I personally will never set foot in that place again. I believe I saw a posting about BMW Ann Arbor that said they were good to deal with, but I have never been there myself. They might be worth checking out. I'm from Kalamazoo, and I've been visiting Harold Ziegler BMW on a regular basis, so they are the first place I am going to get a quote from. I'm hoping they will do $1200-$1500 over ED invoice, because that seems like a pretty fair deal to me.

for detroit, go to IL for it. It's 4 hrs away. Worth the extra savings!! 750 over invoice. If it wasn't for teh 10 hr drive from me to them, I'd go. PM me if you want to know the contacts because I don't know if it's good to just post it here.
So I guess the free mats kinda suck right? I'll try to ask my dealer to give me the rubber ones then. Some give you BS saying that ED is already discounted but don't go to those dealerships. They are trying to test your knolwedge. My dealership tried to test me when I said I have invoice pricings (they don't think people have it). Just tell them, the invoice pricing and if you'll do it for 2 to 3 % over it. $1500 over invoice is easy to get, $1200....not too hard. $1000, really hard, $750 RARE! ONLY ONE SO FAR AND IT IS SOOOOOOO FAR FROM ME! But my deal is not bad...$1088 over invoice (fully loaded too). Is anybody getting satelite prep? should i get it? what's the benefit? Quote:

You should get the sat prep, its $75, only if you plan to sell it later on down the road. It should more then make up in resale value when satelite radio becomes more the norm.
