For business people its only really good for a presentation that needs to be visually enhanced, for me I used it when I visited stores, and had each accounts entire buy of merchandise in photos to speak to with the sales people, if they liked something for a client, I would email them the image with all the info attached so they could forward to the customer and reserve the items prior to us shipping the items, known as pre selling in retail. It was great as Nordstrom, SFA and NM all had different buys of merchandise by store, region, so the smaller stores say like St Louis, could see what what Michigan Ave or Las Vegas was getting, and still pre sell it. I also used it for seminars/presentation to sales staff too, when you only have 15 minutes before store opened, it was a great way to give a lot of info very easy and visually stimulate the presentation.
That said, when I sent it back to HQ after I was let go, I dont really miss it other than the fact I have been traveling a lot and its nice to have everything easy for internet access, movies etc. But for work, typing was a pain. Its basically a media machine, great for photos, movies, skype for meetings/family with camera, and internet access. I dont know if you can cloud compute for business needs on it, that would be ideal for excel/word... For the money, the Iphone offers the max in tools for the internet/photo things, if you are on the go and have a lot of media. |

Hey if anyone wants to go to Central America for 8 weeks, starting in Cancun and ending in Panama, my buddy leave March 1 and has been many times, but is going to all the places he has never had time for, and are really some the nicest and most remote areas, figure $30 for travel/lodging/food, $40 day max.
Yucatan Mexico beaches/ruins Guatemala- Livingston/Rio Dulce, Semuc/Languin, Nebaj/Todos Santos Honduras-Copan, Miskito Coast El Salvador- Suchitoto/La Libertad Nicaragua Estelli/Corn Islands Costa Rica- Chirrpo Panama- Darien Gap/San Blas |

Yeah, when I was shopping for a new laptop the Asus ones were pretty interesting but just could never live with the knowledge that it was named Asus. I already give you guys too much to make fun of me for.

OMG...Apple products never gonna happen in my household. I literally make Matt leave the Ipod that his bio father bought for him outside in the car and if it gets stolen, too bad for him. He knows better than to bring it over.

Easier than using my apple desktop or laptop. More convient. My parents run iPads at there stores now, cheaper than the bulky computers they use and can run credit cars too

But your parents are not running any spreadsheets/word docs/accounting software on these tabs at their drycleaners are they?

LOL @ accounting software on a tablet. No chance in hell. The best solution for MS Office documents is, well not MS, but google docs (which are backwards compatible), but it's not near perfect. There is an app "Docs to go" which has been progressively getting better, but is still VERY cumbersome, especially in excel. The tablet can view PDFs great, and editing word documents (in docs to go) is manageable. But accounting software, no go, and even if there was a good "app" for the software, unless all your data is in cloud storage somewhere you would have to sync changes you make with where ever it's stored in the office. So in summary, yea, they can be useful for a few things and in certain situations, and at only a few hundred dollars may be worth it to you. I just wouldn't expect to be getting "quality" work done in any capacity near a traditional computer.

You can log into your pc using remote desktop from any apple product, mac, ipad, iphone. I log into my HP desktop at work from my macbook at home all the time and use excel, did it on my ipad before as well. Just give in and buy apple, no different than driving a BMW. It's the superior product.
