Yeah it gets dirty, but it's the same as just having your car on the concrete... The dirt tracks in either way. Plus after a while you can just replace it with some other carpet. Even a yoga mat on a super cold day helps. :P

ooo or those padded mats they make for kitchens or areas where people stand all day. They're a harder rubberized material but cushioned. Would be great for all the laying on your back situations and also for long term storage to avoid flat spots on tires. pretty sure you can get like 8 foot by 4 foot ones for like 100

Yoga mat sounds like a nice idea. I'm gonna pick one up if I can find a cheap one at Costco or something.

Exactly. Would make taking a drive shaft off way less annoying.
