As i've never owned a 335i, I assumed you had gurgles on overrun and this topic was for people wanting machine gun ricer exhausts like that facebook vid.

EDIT: Check this vid

Those bangs and gurgles are standard on lifting off.

I'll extract the latest 335i INA0S bins from SP Daten v54 and compare them to the Z.
Why are you being salty? I don't think anyone really wants "machine gun ricer" overrun. JDUB and myself both said something similar to the jag F-type would be about as aggressive as we'd like to go. Maybe not even that much.

To everyone's knowledge no N54 overruns (without touching the throttle at all) like the video posted of jyamonas test map, and unless you can video yours doing it, we'll have a hard time believing that you got the only N54 in the world that does it stock. The video you posted is typical N54 sub 2000rpm gurgles, which is not the topic of this thread.

Nobody is being salty here. Just think you read my post in the wrong mindset.

The cracks and pops shown in that video are above 2krpm. The fact they get more pronounced with sport mode on means it's an intentional feature.

I didn't realise the 335i had such a muted exhaust note until checking a few videos. Do you guys get the crackles during shifting?

3000GT MR can you elaborate?
For example I run full catless DP's mated to full catless straightpipe with no H or X pipe section. Literally each turbo has a pipe all to itself. It's loud especially with no mufflers or resonators at all.

I believe, and others please correct me, but all he does is crack code. You'll have to play with the tables yourself to make this work on your car. Or find a tuner that will do it for you.

I have a ST no cats but my exhaust is super quiet considering under all circumstances. So no matter what, whether its WOT, Idle, downshift crackle its going to sound muffled and not as loud as it will on some other exhaust systems.

Jake is a very good tuner, and is working on different combos of variables to get the best drivability, sound, and smoothness. I, my self is on about rev 15-16. I can get it to sound like a barrel full of firecrackers but engine braking and jerkiness is a bit to extreme and uncomfortable for anyone, racer or not. Theres also true benefits when done correctly to help cool the cylinders during decel. This is a big technique used by racers and teams, hence the large amount of flames seen in any race sport. Its one of those things, if your going to do it, do it right and reap the benefits while your at it.

Thanks for the info on your exhaust.
Does Jake tune your car? I didn't know he tuned. That is exciting.

I wouldnt say he tunes my car, but he sure helps out a lot. I'm not going for big power yet. More, or less just doing testing for Jake on anything he needs. We both branched out on this one. Since my weather has been much nicer i've been playing around with different things, Jake is doing his own, and we're just trying to come up with a happy medium. Our cars can act different with the same tunes, mine being twin scroll and his being a log style. So not everything is copy and paste for each other.

I'd highly recommend the Jakes at Motiv if your looking for a custom tune.

Also, I'm betting a custom tune won't be needed. I bet it'll be an option in mhd like boost by gear is an option.
