I can't fathom why you deserve "donations" from other members to finish such an unnecessary and excessive upgrade. You made a horrible impulsive mistake shipping your only vehicle, a $40-50k luxury sports car across the country to be the guinea pig of a huge custom project. If you don't have the funds to even ship your BMW back to you, you need to sell your car and reprioritize your life. I'm not at all surprised your wife is pissed. If I were her and you pulled this shit, I would leave.

the fact that you posted, and that thats your screen name, makes your argument invalid.

He was put in a crappy situation, and some of us volunteered to help in fairly minor ways, we're not paying the guys mortgage. He didn't ask for our money. It's not a matter of whether he "deserves" it, this isn't a business decision we're making. And he is currently serving or has served, so personally I'm starting at a baseline of being indebted to him. You feel differently, that's just fine.

Just spoke with Eric. We all need to help this guy any way possible. I know a lot of you probable don't care and are just watching to see what happens, but if you can find it in your hearts to give anything to help is better than nothing at all. For everyone who has already reached out to help, thank you. I know I wouldn't want to be in this situation and I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Eric is sending me a list of things that should be picked up at HPF as well as Josh's # who is trying to get with Chris so I can pick up Eric's car. I'll be calling some if the guys in Portland to possible help if available. Already sent Shiv a text and hopefully I'll be able to talk with him to make arrangements to get the car to FFTEC yet this week.

Good to see this finally happening. Really nice of you guys to chip in with transport costs. We will do what we can when we see the car. Like everyone else, we just want to see him back on the road and reunited with a functioning (and fun) car

PP sent Eric, hope this all works out for you. Props to Shiv for being accommodating on short notice and to all you guys for not sitting on the sidelines, it sounds like this'll get sorted out.

Will or can you start a thread detailed on his build so we can see what they were able to and unable to accomplish? Would love to follow on how you fix it.
