Dealer Scratched Interior Trim...wants to Polish out!

So I took my car in a month and a half ago to check on an odd noise that I thought had something to do with the emergency break. Turns out there was nothing wrong and in the process they had really scratched up my LCI's new Light Burl Walnut Trim right around the emergency break lever. They also left a good amount of black scuffs on my Oyster trim. I immediately showed them the scratches and they said they would order a new trim piece for me.

I just got off the phone with them because I hadn't heard from them in over a month and now they say you can't order that trim yet!! So they are offering to have some dude that can work with would try to polish it out! What should I do? It's on the side and top of the trim so he would have to polish around the edge and probably scuff up the black interior plastic in the process. I don't know what to do.

I'm contemplating taking the trim off entirely and just bringing them that piece. Of course I have never done that before and with the iDrive and all I am a bit concerned about removing it. Any ideas? I'm so pissed...after a month of waiting this is what I get.

Ask them to do both for you...

Have the polishing done while you're waiting for the new trim to come in. At least it'll look better and not bother you so much during the wait...

Good advice above. But the LCI trim didn't change - if they can get trim for any other E90 (which they can), they should have no problem getting it for your car. So I call BS on that, but let them polish if it helps in the meantime.

Actually Light Burl Walnut was a brand new trim wood choice for the LCI.

Ah, you're right. I was referring to shapes, didn't think of color. Sorry.
