Coding In the Area

I wanted to see if anyone on here does coding in the Germantown area. I am also open to traveling a little bit.

I checked out him and his prices were over $200 for basic coding? Is this not a little steep compared to others?

I could be wrong.

Would you choose a brain surgeon on price.....letting any dude with a laptop and cable into your cars brain can be risky....

John has done both of my cars and i have been very pleased!

Where is this shop?? Definitely more expensive than any coding I've ever heard of but the guy above is right.....I would rather have a pro do it then a garage hacker.

+1

You can't go wrong with either *************.com or bcrcr.com, shop around (ask questions) and see who best fits your needs.

Hey all,

Both John and I offer coding services and we both aim to serve customers professionally. Our prices vary because we have different business models and business purposes.

But I can assure you that I am not a "garage hacker". Well unless you think my Masters in Information Security with my courses in cyber security counts as "hacking". I've been coding my entire life including current professional work as well as teach coding courses at NVCC so my background on coding well established. I may be Asian and I may look young but I'm out of high school now. You can find me on Linkedin.

In addition to learning the basics of BMW coding, I make my own cables and have been very helpful and thorough and open with my coding process, ensure customers understand each and every component and process including inherent risks before performing any coding. I've even helped others become coders! The reason for my low price is because I wish to spread the sense of community and wish to get to know more people in the community. I find that a lot of people hesitate on coding because prices can be too high when you can get an intake for the same price. I only charge to compensate for my time as the "mods" are already in the car you've purchased.

Best Regards,

Than Maung

I've had my car coded by both Than and John. Both were extremely knowledgeable on the subject, were great in explaining the features they were applying and showing me that the features worked and how to utilize them.

Due to the replacement of my Nav system, I was reflashed at the dealership and lost all of the coding that John had applied. So for my second round of coding for the same features, I worked with Than as he is much closer to me - Arlington/FFX vs. Arlington/Gaithersburg, and his price to code new vs. the price to be recoded was cheaper.

At the end of the day, I am extremely happy with the job both performed and highly recommend either to anyone on these forums. The only true difference I perceived was location, pricing and available coding options.

Thanks to both of you for helping all of us out

I just had Than code up my car today - absolute pro! He had me in and out in 10 minutes, and threw in a couple of features I didn't even know about! Great guy, can't speak highly enough of him.
