It looks like Q isn't getting enough power with just 500 watts. It has the highest xmax but the lowest excursion. That makes sense though, since it has a higher power handling and most likely a stiffer suspension than the other subs.

Any links to some DIY / examples of infinite baffle install? Is it a hard DIY?

Not a DIY, but didn't you see the pics I posted last night? That's an example.

would the 600 watt alpine pdx amp be to much for the idq 12 or idmax12 in infinite baffle?

any other amp wattage recommended for those, or other amps that's more affordable?

My IDMax 15 was driven with almost 1000W and it took it with grace and asked for more. I think 600W would not be enough for the 12, knowing that you need a lot more excursion than with the 15.

I do have the 15 for sale...

If you havent purchased a sub yet, you may want to consider the Hertz Mille ML3000 or Audison Voce AV12 or AV10.

Pictures are of the audison AV12 installed in a E93 on a IB config.

I tried the same thing in the past, but used the factory panel as the actual baffle.

With a heap of sound deading behind, if i could do it again, I would use a sub with a smaller depth than the Alpine Type R.

Somewhat late for me, since i hacked the back panel and internal panel !!
