Procede boost at gear change on auto

Just as the title suggests, curious what the auto guys are running for boost when the car changes gear in DS mode? With this bog fix etc, i'm curious what guys with autos are doing.
say, from 3rd to 4th in DS mode letting the car change gears.

mine usually shifts at about 9psi. Though in this particular instance it shifted at around 12psi. I actually threw misfire codes and almost went into limp mode. For some reason if I let it coast it'll clear the code and run fine, but if I get on the gas it'll go into limp mode.

What is your car shifting at?

my car seems to be very sensitive with this issue as well. I just did a bunch of upgrades. FMIC, Oil Cooler, Stett CAI and i'm running 94octane. i've had a few misfire codes at gear switch as well. My boost guage was reading 13psi on change and i hit misfires. If i switch myself, all is AWESOME. i have to drop the boost to probably 8-9psi and it should be gold. I'm trying to see how high guys are running as every car is different.

BTW, i'm running V3 RevII 9-9 maps stage 2 defaults. what are you running?

V3 Rev 1 PnP 9-9 maps stage 1 75%UT and 75% Ign Cor. If the car shift around 9 or 10psi I have no problems but when it shifts at 12-13psi all I get is misfires. As you can see in the graph I still have it floored but it's misfiring so bad I'm not actually gaining any RPM. My car is the same if I shift manually I get no misfires and the car feels really strong. BTW I've been meaning to mess with upshift softening to see if that'll lower the boost during a shift. Maybe I'll do some runs tonight.

in my case, i tried the upshift softening to 10 already and still.. Will try to raise it higher, maybe 25 and see how it does and then reel her in to find the sweet spot for my car. Let me know how you make out as well!

I think you mean throttle response?

Mine shows upshift softening 0-50

+1 Mine goes to 50 as well.

"Upshift Softening
These parameters dictates the amount of boost reduction that occurs during the upshift process. It is primarily suited for 6AT to improve shifting smoothness and reduce transmission wear and tear. It can also be used by 6MT users who are gutsy enough to power-shift (not lift off the throttle when upshifting). With an entry of 0, there is no boost reduction upon the upshift. With an entry of 50, there is a substantial boost reduction upon the upshift. Default 6AT map will have this parameter set to 5. Lower numbers may slightly improve acceleration performance at the expense of upshift smoothness. Higher numbers will enhance smoothness at the expense of acceleration performance. 0-50."

Try to go back to 100% ign corr. 75% is much more aggressive than 100% for this particular unit.

Cheers,

You should be able to run the 9-9 beta maps with the default upshif softening setting (0%). If you get misfire, I'd say that there is a hardware problem somewhere else in the system (old plugs, bad coil, etc).

I got a few misfire codes and limps when I was running pre 5-29 maps right at redline only.

I'm too chicken to try it on the 9-09 maps...so I keep shifting short of redline manually.

The tune felt awesome tonight!

But I get the feeling my fuel pump is going to crap out soon....plugs are pretty new, so wonder if the long cranks and misfires at redline are signs of impending doom

And to boot....I just spent two days detailing my car and it turned out great.
Just as I finished, my friend knocked over the halogen light stand right onto the rear fender and dented the shit out of a perfect paint job.

I have never owned a car that had this much bad luck!

I'll have to see. I might swap them around to see if the misfire follows a certain coil. I have some codes to read/clear tomorrow.

I've heard of this issue before on the PROcede. Surprised people have finally mentioned it more here now.

give the 9-9 maps a try. I started with 5-29 maps then moved to the 7-29 (or watever it was) then actually went back to the 5-29 map. The 5-29 felt better to me than the 7-29. Now I think the 9-9 feel the best. Car feels really strong with this map, and I actually get less misfires with it.

also don't worry about the bad luck I just found 2 cracks in the windshield and crap etched into the paint on the entire rear half of my car (well found these about a week ago). Time to get some lessons from Sniz on how to use a buffer.

Did they really replace your coils? Typically they just transfer them from the old engine to the new.

They actually changed them as there had issues with things overall. new sparkplugs, coils, turbos etc.. Complete!

So an update.
No hardware changes on car. Changed to stage 1 78%ut and no issues at all. Changed back to stage 2 78% ut and all is well so far. This is running 0 on upshift. My boost is about 12 psi on change and car hits 15.4 psi. All this at 50% timing and all is good so far.

Spoke too soon! Took her out last night and limp again! this time around 6400 to 6750rpm on shift running stage 2 77%. misfire on cyl 6 & 5. Ran in valet mode and no issues. Switch maps and limp. Going to swap plugs and move coilpacks today and see!

SO i did some testing...
I swapped coil pack 6 & 5 to 2 & 1 respectively.
I swapped sparkplugs 6 & 5 to 4 & 3 respectively

Ran the car on stage 2 defaults and still misfire on cyl 6 and 5.

Do you guys think i'm running too aggressive a stage for my mods? FMIC, Stett CAI, 94Octane, Forge DV, Stock Oil Cooler

Again, to clarify, limp only happens when i let the car switch gears on it's own. If i switch myself around 6200rpm, its fine.
