The car still does 155 so I don't think you'll have any regrets

Hope you enjoy it.

i have a 335d SE Coupe............... the ultimate diesel

I went for it as if i'd bought the 330d - i'd always be wanting that bit more............

i traded in the older 184Hp 330d for it, that had been chipped to 225hp..........

The sat nav doesn't bother me............. but knowing i could have had a better engine under the bonnet would...........

........... you'd always be thinking what if????

I don't think I've ever seen mudflaps on a 3er.

On a 4x4 - yes. On a 330d? Ermmm...

BMW 'flaps are of course moulded. There's probably going to be a roundel or two on them if I look .

may be a bit late to mention, but have you considered residules ? IMO the 335D will hold more on to the residule much more, as they are the rarer beast...and therefore sought after + kudos

on the xenon front, mine car was never spec.with them, I have recently paid £650 for a genuine set, had them fitted for a further £150 = well chuffed = what price we pay for vanity !

The 330d I think will be a nice compromise and better on fuel than the 335d (the figures I have seen certainly suggest it is) but still give a decent turn of speed, it will likely be remapped in the future anyway

Soo now I need some darklines, boot mat, mudflaps and the front windows tinted lightly.
I'll need to double check with the style police, but I've a feeling that mudflaps are technically illegal on M Sport BMWs.

Blacklines, definate yes - got my E91 ones for £60 in the classifieds on here!

What colour is it?

You've made the right choice but I am biased having a fully specced 330d touring. The reality is you are hardly ever liekly to need the extra oomph of the 35d in the real world but toys are addictive i.e. once you've had them it is hard to do without. Enjoy the new car

TBH I have had a 335d and I loved it, and if I get another it would have to at least match the last one, which unfortunately this one didn't, so I think it's perhaps best to dismiss that particular car.

I'm sure the 330d will satisfy my requirements performance wise, I have had 6 months in a 118d so the 330d should feel sprightly enough by comparison. I just want something that's adequate, diesel and a 6 pot, as I dont like the 4 cylinder engines, this seems to fit the bill nicely.

Residuals I'm not too hung up on, the 335 is a fair bit more expensive and I very much doubt I'd recoup it back if I sold it on, due to the lesser spec, it's worth remembering a car without nav is worth 1k less in the Glass' guide.

Mudflaps yes, fitted them to my last car, made a big difference over the winter months, and I don't really care what people think, it's a practical family estate car.

It's Silver with black leather, possibly my fav colour combination after red and black

think you made the right choice
how xenons aren't standard on a top model is a joke

i'm also considering e61 5 series and even on the 530d which is a how much car from new? well, can't believe it doesn't have full proper climate control, so many have just the manual switches with white writing on the edges as found in my other half ford KA!
i'm assuming nav and idrive might come standard on the 5 series as see them in most, but those heater swtiches are a big NO NO.

i'm considering a 330d touring, but need to check on space etc.

Tourings aren't all that big in the back - useful amount of room and plenty with seats down but the boot itself isn't much bigger than a large hatchback.

Missed this one, but I'd say you made the right decision.... and even more so on the flaps. Get the blacklines on and it should look rather like my old one.
