im not planning on adjusting anything on the exhaust system at all.

The rear section is a blt on item literally.

so the sound should be as BMW intended.
I dont want it to be too bombastic
Just a nice burble at tickover, and a decent tone under throttle

nothing mental.

Can anyone advise me about the difference between the Eisenmann sport muffler and the BMW performance exhaust in terms of how loud they are?

I am only want a modest increase in sound, so I will be keeping the stock mid pipes and resonator if I go for the Eisenmann sport.

I would say the BMW performance has more of a voice than the eisenmann sport. The BMW have a very throaty roar too it that the eisenmann does not have.

also if you did the eisenmann and didnt get the mid pipes you would still have the resonator where as the BMW performance replaces the whole thing thus making it louder.

Hope that helps

Thanks for your comment. I have been watching some videos and it sure seems like the PE has quite a throaty roar as you say. I am probably looking for something a bit milder sounding, and hopefully avoid any significant drone on the expressways.

Here is some comparison from youtube I have found with the N52B25 218hp used in my car. This is the engine in the Euro spec 325i sold up to 2007 and currently still sold in Australia. Maybe similar to Canadian 323i, but I'm not sure.

from what I hear the BMW PE doesn't drone at all, or atleast is one fo the more drone free systems available
