"Hissing" sound from shocks
Over any bump/unevenness in the road, however slight, the shocks make a "hiss" noise (best way to describe it). I have a '10 335 xi. Didn't know if this was normal, or if I should have the shocks checked out. Probably a noob question, but you never know until you ask....

I have a 2006 bmw 325xi with 88k miles that makes the same sound you are describing...from what I've heard it's normal, especially for older shocks.

if it's a larger bump, that's the blowoff valving in the shock doing its job.
If it's making that sound over even the slightest imperfection, you may have blown shocks. Unlikely at lower mileage though - what is yours? |
