i think that was the chainsaw getting stuck on the bones of the neck, kind of like how the saw at the butchers shop slows down to a near idle/ can almost get stuck on thicker bones... for a gruesome analogy

Sorry but if I took my kid to see a "Magic Show" and they decided to play a "gruesome trick" I would sue their pants off. It was an accident, she's dead...
