Great point. Right now my car is sitting in the garage, 3 psi in the tire and the RFT are keeping my rim from sitting on the ground. Same goes for preventing damage while being put on the tow truck, taken off and then slowly pulled into the garage. If they made RFTs in 235/35 and 275/30 I'd consider sticking with them.

Also curious about this. I hate BMW's plan of RFT's and no spare. The tires are too expensive, and I don't like the idea of no spare. I've hit something at the beginning of a long road trip that blew out the tire (non RFT). Luckily, with that car I had a full size spare in the trunk. Just changed it and finished the trip. With the new setup, I'd be screwed. I guess the answer is, just don't hit things in the road. But, at 90 MPH in the dark, things come at you pretty fast...

Yes, solid aluminum RSFB's, I specifically have the MRF RSFB's. Go with solid aluminum RSFB's over the poly inserts or poly replacements.

VTT 2+ last time I saw. Maybe he's out celebrating, but it's going on 12 hours and guessing if it hit close or over 600whp, it would've been posted somewhere pretty quickly. Not sure what is being used, but it would take a combination of things and/or some crafty PID work on an IS to get the 30+psi range it most likely needs to get that near that. I'll be curious to see what it puts down and at what boost level either way.

Shop I was going to dyno at yesterday was close and I work this weekend. I'll post something as soon as I get a chance to go.

I just installed catless DP on my iS...Its straight all the way to the mufflers and smokes like a MF at times. Rasp is crazy too.

Would adding resonators where the secondaries use to be and replacing the oem x pipe with a magnaflow solve these issues im having?

You, sir, have opened up a can of worms that has driven me crazy for the last year. I installed AR catless DPs a year ago on my IS and had terrible rasp in the 4500-5500 RPM range. I deleted the mid-cats and put in Vibrant resonators in their place. Still had the rasp, only now I had smoke too. I've since taken out the AR catless and put in Cobb catted -- smoke is gone, and while the rasp is not as insane, it's still there at about 5000 RPM. My theory or opinion is that the IS exhaust is unique (which we all know), and reacts to high flow downpipes (catless or catted) by producing ... rasp.

Ditto No Kidding! I just stuck with my Catless Downpipes after trying all sorts of things while still having srcondaries. . Adding vibrant in the back before the mufflers. Toned it down to much and took them out. Just running VRSF catless DP'S and dealing with rasp. Hated to lose that signature 'is" sound.

If the Cattless DP's ever need replacing I will go with the Cobb Catted DP's. Are you still happy you did?

I went with the cobb catted and can't report any rasp, it makes a louder/deeper tone than stock without sacrificing the sound.

Any time you remove the cats (on just about any car), you are going to have rasp. You are essentially hollowing out a big part of the exhaust. Catted down pipes will eliminate some or all of the rasp.
