welded diff on a 135? you're brave. If the weld comes apart, you're gonna be paying more than that 3K.

Manual comes with a welded diff. Or am I wrong? And I'm just referring to the housing

its open diff. Welded diff means you welded the inside together to make it 100% locked.

Agreed, honesty "is" the best policy, but being upfront, without some assurances that we still have access to a Service Advisor who would be mod-friendly, is not worth the level of stress having mods would cause if/when I have to go in for service.

you mean your ring gear is welded to the gear carrier......earlier models (like pre-SEP 07s) are bolted....every thing else is welded. all 135i manuals have welded ring gears. there's a bit more work involved in getting the LSD installed....hence the price.
