I gave up on D/DS mode on that car. I was in manual shift mode 90% of the time.

Of course, that's why the damn wire broke in the shifter :P

For those of you with ATs: be careful, as the shifter is NOT designed for frequent flips from D to DS (there is a cable that gets pulled, and it WILL break eventually). I guarantee it. There's someone else on this thread that had this exact problem. We were both lucky to fix it under warranty, but if you're out, then it's a $500 shifter assembly or a lot of soldering and hoping your skillz are leet enough.

Btw, it's not too hard to repair based on other guys on this forum but this kind of issue should not happen.

What awesome goodies are you buying? Anything groovy you building?

As an aside, how is your C++ coding by the way, I'm working on a C++ project and was looking for some pointers ...

Upgraded fuel pump for the R, adjustable control arms for the Mini, and a improved spatula for the majestic bbq...

C++: oh man I haven't touched that in years. I'm all about Web-facing these days, it feels more... fulfilling

First I put a 2DIN navi that plays movies into it, and now I'm trashing the speakers, putting Dynamat in the doors and putting some Infinity Kappas into it.

Maybe I need help.

Nah, my friend is undetermined when he's coming back, so it looks like I have it semi-indefinitely. I guess, considering I plan on putting NT05s on the R as daily tires, it'll be good - less wear on those, more wear on the Versa's. Hehe.

[edit] also: considering how bad the integrated sound system is, driving it for anything more than 10 minutes is a nightmare on wheels. I figure, if I have to drive this thing at ALL, it should at least stop sucking. :P

Hm.

CLA45 AMG: yay or nay?

I find it cheating that they call it "45" but it only has a 2.0 turbo, but 350hp and AWD? I might consider this as the next car, depending on how heavy and how tunable it is.
