Do you think your interior is plain without idrive/navi?

I personally chose to look for an e92 with idrive because i liked the styling better with the "hump" in the dash. Don't really use the nav feature though because it takes too long to type in an address anyway.
imo, its pretty cheesy to have a garmin suction cupped to my windshield.

No iDrive. Didn't even look for a car with it.
My requirements were cold weather package, sport and premium. I didn't want black, white or silver. I got an Arctic Metallic car with everything else I wanted. Working on a Nexus 7 as media control and Nav. |

i'd rather have built-in nav than having a tomtom or garmin on my windshield or dash.

Toys. You get lost that much? How often is it actually used to seek out an unknown destination? Do you have a Blackberry or iphone? They have nav.

i'm well aware that my iphone has nav...i don't want a holder for my iphone, i don't like having an extra cord for power and my iphone's screen isn't as big as idrive. i'd definitely prefer a screen that could be hidden but, meh, whatever. i'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. just my opinion.

+1 had my 07 from scratch. Stealer tried to tell Mr it would hurt resale. Show me someone willing to pay £1.5k extra now for the hump and an out of date nav.
The radio embeds all the advanced features. Even if you code the comfort ventilation it reveals as an option on the radio. Now HUD i'd pay for! I heard pioneer bought a company specialising in laser projection with a mind for a retro fit for one of those too. |

When I bought my car, I specifically was looking for nav. I'm a huge techy so love those things. I do like the look with the hump but I never use it since the oem nav is terrible. Since I bought my car I've seen a lot of great alternatives that I would totally do if I didn't have the oem nav. In fact, I prefer the alternatives now. lol

I wish I had got the nav option, but not because it has anything at all to do with the appearance of the interior of my car. I don't have a positive or negative feeling about the looks of the car's interior with regard to the presence/absence of nav/iDrive.
Having those features or not isn't what motivated me to buy the car. I buy cars, not car options. I either like the car itself, and then I consider what options I may want. or I don't like the car and options and interior appearance is of no consequence. Even if I couldn't get the options I want, I'd still buy the car if it's what I wanted. Or, more directly, no, I don't think my interior is "plain" without nav/iDrive.

Eh the Nav is pretty useless, for me anyways.
I rarely drive to places i'm not familiar with. But the one this I DO like it for is the ability to navigate through my USB stick of 64GB of music more easily. This is the only reason why I would want it.

It's slow as hell. And not much of a fan of the click wheel. Takes too long to enter. I used to just use google maps to search address and input into the nav. Once it's in, it takes like a minute or two to "find a route". However, now I'm just too lazy and just use my phone if I need directions. I do like the traffic function on the oem nav. Oh wait, google has that too. lol.

iDrive is great, definetly makes the car look more 'luxurious' IMO, makes the interior complete... Without it the interior just reminds me of my old Subarus, just plain 'ol radio and air con haha.

I'm with the people who say nav looks good. I never use mine but I think it makes the car look fancier inside. Without it the car looks basic..I don't care how outdated the maps get, it looks nice having a screen.

I used to think the dash looked bare without the NAV until I used the gen 1 iDrive. After that I didn't mind it so much
I do think these cars benefit more aesthetically from the right color trim (silver) in comparison to some of the woods available. |

Is it just me or have cars with red interiors been suddelnly of late coming out of the wood work? I didn't realize there are so many of them around as I've seen lately on B-post. (Admittedly, most of them have been for sale...maybe that in itself is telling....)
