Do you work for BMW or something? Fair enough if you have a high position in BMW you might want to see BMW enter this market with a top performer. I wouldnt go as far as saying I feel "embarassed" even still because BMW is very successful.

What annoys me is when you said "not NISSAN! ". Are Nissan not worthy enough to produce something like that?

Wat's wrong with Nissan???
Its not like all they've done was the Nissan Micra and economic cars....they've been making Skyline GT-R and many other FR cars in the past. Cannot wait to see the new GT-R on the road in person!

Not really I will meet you at the Ring anytime and show you how clueless I am

I think that BMW should be making a car that shows and proves them as a leading brand when it comes to road cars with excellent / state of the art driving dynamics.
They don`t and that does not make sense too me.

I think if you all think about it BMW should be a leader in this regard, even if they are successful without doing it and makes fine cars for a lot of happy BMW owners.

But of course its even worse for Porsche being beaten like this.....

BMW are doing well in formula 1 but that doesnt really build any credability for their road cars.

The "best" car yet from BMW is the old E46 M3 CSL, being capable of 7.50 at the Ring, but thats history and I think they should have delivered something better/faster long time ago.

Nissan deserves the glory they receives these days, more power to them.
But since I love german cars I feel sad when they get beaten on home soil...

Maybe I sounded stupid

But I am truly disappointed that the German car makers does not do more development that focuses on pure performance. Maybe I expect too much from them.
I bow in the dust for Nissans work with the GT-R, a comfortable heavy grand tourer that goes as fast as a Carrera GT on the Nurburgring!
It is a new benchmark and I am surprised Nissan was the one doing it.
Thats great BRAND BUILDING work! And Nissan needs it more than both BMW and Porsche.
It will surely make the competition work hard and I guess it will affect the new M3 CSL and how it performs. So Nissan did us all a favour...?

By the way I am a big fan of both Nissan, Mazda and Toyotas work with Le Mans cars, The GT-one is/was great and the Nissan 390 too, when I was at Le Mans in 1995 the Mazda with the wankel engine had far the best sound of all the cars

This is an old story. All of cars where driven by Scott Millen who just happened to be an ex-Nissan driver and who by his own admission, knows how to drive the GT-R alot better then he does the 911 or the Z06. Get a ex-Porsche or Corvette driver to do the test and I bet the result is different. The GT-R is a very good car, it's been equal to the other cars before now. Introduce a "ringer" driver, and suddenly it's a couple of seconds faster.

Equal to the other cars before now???

It beats the Porshe turbo in a number of tests by a good margin, and even the GT3 on a quite small track, that should favor the GT3.
At the Ring it is also clearly faster than the competition, the reason is the driving dynamics that are at a new level never seen before in a normal car.

Check a comparison of laptimes here: http://www.fastestlaps.com/index.php...=4717b80e35715

Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Audi and all the others have a lot to learn from this car, I bet they have already bought some and are testing it like crazy to learn how to build their cars next generation.

My background is Porsche based, I have driven both the Porsche GT3 and the Porsche turbo at the Nurburgring, the turbo many times.
When I see the inboard video from the GT-R it is clear how much better the car drives compared to the turbo, it is groundbreaking! The GT3 is very nice though!

You can see for yourself here:

The best Porsche Turbo drivers will drive the turbo lap after lap close to 7.40, but that is not official numbers, just what those drivers say themselves when we talk to them at driving schools.
Thats 11 seconds behind the GT-R, thats quite much

His name is STEVE Millen and not Scott Millen. Sure he's an ex-nissan driver but that was quite a while back and I don't think he had anything to do with the GT-R's development. He's not under Nissan's payroll anymore so I don't see why he would purposely drive the GT-R faster.
