They are offering workers at Ellesmere Port 2-9 months leave on 30% pay to avoid redundancies:

Lose their jobs? Hell, they gave them up when the UAW refused any kind of concession or renegotiation.

Agreed. The UAW really screwed up. And alot of hard working Americans are going to suffer.

It is sad to see many people lose their jobs as a result. GM, just like Chrysler and Ford, has been heading into the wrong direction for too long, it's about time they leave the stage. Their products have poor quality, old technology and inefficient engines. Throwing more money at it won't do anything but delay the inevitable bankruptcy.

corp fat cats out of touch with local and intl markets cause this deserved response from govmnt. death to out of touch fat cats and their salary and bonuses to be split amongst workers as xmas bonuses.
