ECOD Hunter Valley drive 29th April
Thought I'd throw this up here, a bunch of us went for a cruise up the Putty Rd yesterday to the Hunter for some lunch (turned out to be a late lunch)
We started out at Rouse Hill Macca's for the meeting point, with a 9am departure, however, since Kenny was coming a bunch of us were late to the meet point. My mate Jeff organised it so it seemed like a pretty good excuse with the weather to get the cars out for a fang. Jeff took his Boxter S, Dom came in the new Audi RS4 and Sim decided to leave the 996 GT3 RS and bring his black 993 TT. Kenny took the Turbo out for a fang which I think was his first blat in it since he did the TechArt upgrades. The 996 TT and BMW brigade The Falcon and Mrs in the 335 Coupe Dom in his 4.2 ltr V8 RS4, the engine sounds off its tits on full throttle! Mr Shelswell in his spanking clean Turbo Sim and Ainslee in the 993 Profile of the cars We headed up to Windsor and up the Putty Rd, I know most of you have driven it and its a great run, there was no traffic except for a VK on a trailer and a bunch of people out for a outing in a 318 doing 80 k in the 100 zone. Bloody BMW drivers! Sim had a leak in the left rear of the 993 so we stopped off to strech our legs, have a bit of a chat and take some pics, while Sim put some air in the tyre and Kenny fixed up his $$$ TechArt gear knob that decided to come loose on the way up. Carbon goodness! Ains in the 993 while Sim makes another tyre pressure pit stop. We got to the resturant about 1:30 and managed lunch over a couple of hours as everyone was starving and had a few glasses of wine before heading back to Sydney down the F3. A big thanks to Jeff for organising the day and lunch as it was a good day and everyone had a good time out. Also to the Falcon for shooting the in car in the 335 and Renee for the shots in the Porka. The video of the day is up on YouTube here for anyone who's interested in checking it out. Till next time. |

Yeah true, but having a cruise is a pretty enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Fingers crossed we can eventually get one going on here, i think it'd help stir up the forum a bit too.

That looks like an awesome drive 1q2w3e4r.
When I was younger, I used to do the Old Putty Road drive nearly every Friday night for fun. It's been a long time between drinks (so to speak). Surely it is getting close to a time when the Sydney members of this forum can catch up and do something similar. Cheers. P.S. What are you studying astra? |
