Anybody run an USB port to the dash?

I find the location of the USB jack hard to reach while driving. Therefore, it is a pain in the a*s to change memory sticks. Any run a cable or install a new port? I am looking for ideas and pictures?? Thanks!

If you need to swap memory sticks, it's time to get a hard drive instead. List of working ones in this thread:

Sometimes I use my Ipod Nano and sometime USB sticks. A hard drive might resolve that problem. Thanks!

Should be very easy to do. If I were you I would consider buying the 6fl USB/Aux adapter plug and dremel out a piece in the ashtray or even place it next to the A/C controls (assuming you dont have I-drive) on the lower part of the center dash. If you have I-drive then where the heated seats control goes. I have taken off this piece and there is a good 1.5 inches or so on either side you should be able to do this.

Great idea. I do have I-drive and I mounted my radar detector in the ash tray. I'll pop off the heated seats panel and see what up. Thanks!

From "TVandNAV2go" install DIYs, I've seen people have run audio cables from the glovebox, through the center console (take off the trim), through the back of the dash and out the back in the passenger footwell. Then you unscrew the glovebox and bring the cable up into there.

Of course you'd need to run a USB extender, and an AUX extender for using your iPod.
