Tighten handbrake/parking brake E93

Hey,

I have just replaced my discs and pads with new ones and was wondering if you guys could give some advise.

I have noticed my handbrake/parking brake has to travel around 8 clicks to stop the car from rolling adequately. I have adjusted the spring on the rear wheels but if i tighten anymore it puts unessasary friction on the wheel from turning.

Is there a way to put more tension on the cable itself as im sure i need to do something handbrake end. I guess if more tension was on the cable itself it wouldnt need as many clicks.. its feel quite lose as if the first 4 click dont really do anything..

car is a manual btw

please helpppp.. not a fan of yanking it up so high

I haven't attempted it but your question made me curious enough to search and I found a post with a promising link:

You have an automatic cable adjuster. But did you deactivate the mechanism, by engaging the hook, before you adjusted the brake shoes? It is essential to do that, to get properly adjusted brake shoes.

Deactivating the ASZE unit:
A screwdriver must be used to press back the locking clip of the tensioning spring until the locking hook engages the locking clip of the tensioning spring.
