Coilover install: am I missing anything?
For the past few months I've been collecting parts to put together my coilover kit. I've finally reached the point where I think I have everything I need for the install, but want to make sure before I start the install. I currently have (see picture below):
Koni front/rear dampers Swift front/rear springs HPA coilover perches HPA swaybar endlinks HPA thrust bearings Koni bump rubbers on front struts (can't really see them in the picture) Ground Control camber plates Megan racing adjustable toe arms (not pictured) Koni adjustment knob Spanner wrenches Since I collected the parts for this kit individually, is there any bracket/washer/screw that I could be missing? I want to be sure I have everything before I start taking the car apart. Thanks!!! Last edited by turo; 07-29-2013 at 12:16 AM.. |

I do, you just can't see them in the picture.
Yes, but it takes a LOT longer to find the right deals on the necessary parts! I'm not sure it's worth it, honestly. Only reason I did it is because I found a great deal on the major components, otherwise I would've just bought a complete kit from the for sale section here. |

If these work like my old BCs, you're missing all the shit for the top of the rear struts. Washers, nuts, bump stop, etc.

Couldn't tell you, I have no experience with Koni shocks. These are my old BCs, they had two washers, a long cylinder thing, and a nut for the top. I reused the stock bumpstops as BC doesn't provide any.

Keep in mind that with the GC camber plates you will not use the Koni/HPA top perches up front. Instead, the spring camber plate doubles as the perch.
Good choice on the plates, BTW. What are your spring rates? |

Also, since you have the compress to adjust rear konis, you should email them with your spring rate and application info and ask them for a starting damping setting. Changing the damping on those shocks requires removing them temporarily from the car to adjust.

Nice rates... I'll be running the same. Great setup for street and some track. let us know how the install goes - mine should be done in the next couple of weeks. Good luck

nice collection of parts, the front drop looks pretty limited there if thats a concern. make sure the koni shock piston fits into the gc plate and the ID of the swift fits into the gc perch. (looks like a 2.5ID). you might of already known this before you ordered the gc's.
