BMW Sport suspension on an '11 xDrive?
The very first mod I'd like to do for my 2011 335i xDrive is suspension. As many of you know, the stock suspension is abnormally high. I've been weighing my options on various methods of lowering it.
A local forum member was gracious enough to have me come by his house and take a look at his 2008 xi with H&R springs w/ Bilistin shocks. It looked great and handled amazing. However it was a bit too aggressive for my liking. I like the stock ride height of 335i's with the sport suspension. If I were go go with the BMW sport suspension I'm assuming it'll lower it more than the advertised .6-.75" simply because it's starting out higher- correct? Also does the xDrive model use different dampers than the non xDrive models? In other words could I just use the conservative BMW sport suspension springs and call it a day? This is the look I'm going for and I was told by VMR this is the stock suspension.... If not the BMW suspension what other springs are conservative enough to possibly work with my stock shocks? Eibach? Thanks in advance everyone! |

If I remember correctly the BMW sport suspension wont fit the Xi models. You'd have to go for some aftermarket setup to get a drop and better handling

So would you say the the Eibach Pro springs feel smoother than the H&R/Bilstein combo you test drove before? What size rims are those in the picture and are you using non-RFT's? Try to figure out how the ride feels compared to stock xi suspension. Thanks.

The ride is mildly firmer than stock. What I think helps is the fact I'm not using runflats anymore (continental DWS).
It's definitely a lot smoother than the H&R/Bilisten combo. Again I'm 100% satisfied. |

Awesome. Thanks for the input. Are those 18's or 19's? Like the way your car sits.
