Dackel,

Epic, simply epic! What a great trip! Thanks much for the photos and descriptions, although I'm still trying to figure out why you have a dead cat named Mike… (Just kidding!)

I've definitely added the Dolomites to my must-see list.

words can't describe how amazing a trip like this can be at so many levels.....Glad you all are carrying on the tradition and repping our 1Addicts so well across Europe.

BTW, who can I talk to for an original digital file of the first image of Sella? Beautiful shot whoever took it....I'd like to print it as I skied here for a week...

Yes, that's where I also believe it was taken. Again I defer to Artemis my expert on mountain passes. Gotthard/Grimsel/Furka/Davos - were amazing roads.

Affirmative: he notorious cobble-stoned pass flocked with cows is the Saint Gotthard Pass - Passo del San Gottardo.

Forum fellow Swadeness took both pictures featuring my car surrounded by cows.

Below is also a nice picture that someone took at Sella Ronda (Dolomites). Almost as if it were unreal - but if you've visited the place, you know that it is real.

A few weeks ago, forum dsm918 did an F80 M3 European Delivery with his wife and child. He included the Dolomites in his trip. Here are his pictures of that section of his ED journey.

Yeah, the Dolomites are definitely a hidden jewel.

To those who consider an ED: allow yourself to head South and drive "Sella Ronda". It's approx. 90 minutes from the Austrian / Italian border. On site, without stops, it takes about 75 minutes to do all 4 connected passes (± 53 km or ± 33 miles) in the shape of a stretched circle ('ronda' ~ round).

Not only you, but also your significant other(s) on board will never forget that experience.

I came across this awesome HD video on Italy. It has a lot of scenes from Sella Rounda Pass. Also of the Gardasee and of Chinque Terra and Lucca near Florence.

Enjoy,
Dackel

Out of sheer immense jealousy, I can't even begin to say how incredible this trip must have been for the participants. Well done guys, and what a post.

Anyone can follow our tours and visit the places where we have driven. That is in part why I have documented our ED trips and auto museum pieces.

But... I remember fellow forum member swagon saying over dinner that first night of our tour... even though he had driven these roads before... driving "in mass" with a bunch of car crazy guys is on a whole different level of "driving fun", out in the Alps! I know he will be back for this year's tour! We really had such a blast, driving as a "group", once you experience it your hooked for Life. It's so much fun!! And the roads and scenic panoramas are so awe inspiring.
