Tire/Rim Warranty
I picked up my new car last Monday. I was close to purchasing it until the salesperson informed me that it did not cover normal wear and tear. I asked if accidentally hitting a curb was considered normal wear and tear and he said yes. The only damage i have ever done to my Rims has been from curbs. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Seriously?
I know that BMW has a ridiculously good warranty (compared to what I'm used to...) but there is no way a dealership would warranty wheels from curb damage. I'd have to side with the salesman on this one. |

I have owned my car for merely 3 months and I already cashed in when I got a nail in my sidewall that couldn't be repaired.

i curbed my iforged about a month ago and i asked my ca about it and he said that it is covered under the wheel warranty...He said basically send the receipt and they'll issue a check...I have saved all the e-mails for when they try to deny me, but according to him, its covered...

Most of these warranties are not OEM warranties. I know that one I bought with my car was sold at the dealership but it was an EasyCare warranty. I've had 2 flats so far, with one fixed and one tire replaced. Everything was taken care of by the warranty but my wheels and tires are stock. You may want to call the issuing company and find out if they would cover aftermarket wheels and tires.

There is no way that aftermarket wheels are covered by the warranty. The warranty only covers the wheels and tires that come with the car when purchased and will only cover replacement tires if the dealer replaces them
