1st Service window?

I have a question, my 1st service was supposed to be at 15k, but my light hasn't gone on so basically BMW won't look at it until that happens. I called and asked and they said that the service light is supposed to come on between 15k-17k, My car is at 16.8k, should I just bring it in and demand service?

The only time I took it in was for a broken fuse fix, they changed the oil and that's it; I also took it in around 9k for that potenza POS recall/fix thing, but I doubt they reset..thank I'll call BMWNA and ask..

Upon start up you will get "Service" notice. Or you can go to toggle through to the service menu and see how many more miles u have left on your oil I believe the car will notifiy an oil change is required when your go under 1k miles for change.

I'm curious, too. According to my service counter I'm just now hitting my first scheduled oil service at 21K miles. Yikes!

I haven't been too concerned since I've been doing oil changes out of pocket for a while, but on what planet is it reasonable to run over 20K miles on the break-in oil fill?

i hear ya. My car states 2 years 25k miles. common argument here. Personally I rather have them take 4k or "whatever they feel free maintenance for 4 years is worth" off the price of the car.

hmm never thought of that before. I would definitly rather have that amount off the price too. To think I actually believed that was part of the value of the car...

cover things like brakes, plugs and clutch and have reasonable oil change intervals and then we might have something
