So any pro tips on what to use to clean the faux leather that you get in most modern cars as well as all the black plastic bits?
For the leather: Gliptone Leather Cleaner and protect with Gtechniq L1.

For the plastics: Clean with an APC and dress with Espuma Dasheen or Poorboys Natural Look Dressing.

For the carpets: Clean with VP Heavy Duty Cleaner and protect with Gtechniq I1.

On the rare (three times a year at most and more often twice annually) occasion I bother beyond the local car wash, I use the Zaino system.

I like it because it does make the paint look great and there seems to be something about it that makes basic road dust/dirt not stick to the car as easily.

Another option is to do a full on detailing of the car and then have Simoniz's glass based paint protection applied. That stuff is basically like Teflon for your car's paint. Literally nothing will stick to it. You'll have to contact Simoniz to find out where it's offered in the UK.

Good luck and all the best.

Similar for me:

For the leather: Autoglym leather cleaner and Gliptone Leather Conditioner

For the plastics: Meguairs interior detailer (leaves matt finishes matt, and gloss finishes gloss!)

I'll try your carpet cleaner suggestions on my e92 though with it's light colour, as my e46 was all black inside so carpet cleaning was easy with even cheap stuff!

The Megs tyre gel is great, I use a 2" paint brush to apply it.
Also try Poorboys wheel sealer on the alloys.

For the interior of mine I use Auto Finesse - Total2 on EVERYTHING! (I have alcantara seats). It's a multi cleaner and smells lovely!

If you want some short lived stuff which makes the car look fantastic, get some Dodo Juice Red Mist. Great stuff and literally makes the part sparkle. Its great for when you just want to give the car a quick wash and make it look amazing for a week or two.

Thanks for the tips, any suggestions on the best place to get all this lovely cleaning stuff? My local Halfords just isn't cutting it.
