McDonalds Stockport

As my clutch is being done at Darren Woods today, I'm sat in McDonalds making use of their free wifi!

Pop in and say hi if you are around!

Hi Phil,

Say hello to Mike & Darren for me.

I'll pop in with the E63 when I get it...

Let us know how the new clutch is.

I know Darren Woods is the dogs danglies but have you seriously travelled up from Aylesbury to get your clutch done?? Suppose Dave (Mega) travelled up from London not long ago. Shame I've only just seen your post as I was a minute away from McD's this morning as I went to collect the Zed from the garage in Stockport. Bugger.

Well Clutch, DMF, CDV

Engine, gearbox and diff oil changes

Valve cover gasket

Rear turbo vacuum hose

Downpipe crush gaskets

Was about 6-7 hours work in all. Much cheaper than down here £50+VAT rather than over £100+Vat. Plus I just don't trust many people to do these jobs properly!

Just my time and £60 in fuel - worth it in my opinion.. Hopefully I don't need to go back too soon though!!

Makes sense. If you do return more then 1 minutes notice might result in some company

Phil
Were you clutch plate problematic?
Or is it pro-active approach to change it?

I had clutch slip while running higher boost. The DMF also seemed to rattle/whir whilst at idle.

I'm on 103k so can't complain too much - especially with the torque I'm running..

Great, all the best mate.

I guess I'll have to take my car there if something happens. It appears that they are the best!

Yea mate.

Was the gummed up inlet valves. But I was still getting low boost due to turbo and vacuum issues. Now all solved - hopefully for a while to come!
