Exhaust tips or cleaning current

Anyone recommend a decent exhaust tip as mine has gone black? Or best way to clean current?

I tried using toothpaste and a toothbrush on my tips and it worked perfectly. Lots of patience required though.

I've got to clean my exhaust tps too. So a Brillo pad won't cause scratches?

steel wool in differing grades (depending on how bad it is) and then your favorite polish

Brasso wadding, then Meguiar's NXT metal polish. Maybe a brillo on the outer ring(s) to remove thicker deposits and corrosion.

I found that Autoglym wheel cleaner works well. Even better when the exhaust is hot - avoid the fumes though! Comes off VERY easily.

Then just do them every time you wash your car and don't let it build up.

I've used wire wool grade 0000 and optimum metal polish. Came out nice but they get so dirty quite quickly.
