Gear Indicator in iDrive?

Has anyone seen a way to show what gear you are in on the iDrive screen? It is tough to see the indicator between the gauges sometimes. (talking DCT here...)

Or... is there a heads up display retrofit?

Thanks,
Greg

Decided to switch it up a bit today... Matte black 313s. Now I just need to add some spacers. What size spacers are you guys running on 313s? Thinking of 15mm in the front and 12mm in the rear. Thoughts?

I've only owned the 335is for a month. I think the difference I'm feeling has something to do with the DCT vs. Steptronic with my other 335i's. I've already done a walnut blast valve cleaning, new injectors and plugs, so I'm sure it's running 100%. I'll play around with the settings and once I've done some roll ons with guys I was "previously equal to" - then I'll know.

Thanks!

You got it spot on! 15mm in front and 12mm in the back. I am running PSS 235/275 tires and they run square so my setup is flush. If your not too low and are running smaller than 275s in rear then you can go up to 18mm in rear with runflats and not lowered.

But best bet is 15mm front and 12mm rear with beefier tires!

You need to reset engine and transmission adaptations and then drive it hard. You will notice a difference right away.
Also, I see you did the major things like walnut blast, injectors and plugs but you may need new coils and possibly a hpfp. Good way to diagnose a hpfp is if you have long cranks to start your car.

Good luck.

Thanks! No long cranks anymore since they replaced the injectors. I'm pretty sure my coils and HPFP are good. Is there a "fuse pull" to reset the engine and transmission adaptations?

Are you guys using the oem wheel fasteners and studs or did you need longer studs?

You'll need BMW Tools 2.12 (contains INPA) with the required cable or a BT cable.

JB4 for 335is. Is it really faster ?

Hi DJ,
I managed to purchase a 2012 CPO LeMans blue 6MT with 12k miles on it. I love driving it everyday and the torque is pretty impressive. I'm planning on installing a JB4 G5 ISO . Given that we both drive (and love) manual transmission and that you already installed a JB4 G5 ISO let me ask you a couple of questions:

1) Do you really notice an increase wrt to stock over-boost TQ ?
2) According to this nice video the JB4 G5 ISO doesn't provide any performance improvement wrt stock in 0-60 time:

3) Does the G5 ISO have a specific setting for 335is ?

I plan to use Map2 as I run pump fuel (91 here in California). Would I need a back-end flash like MHD to get the best gain for the buck ?

Pls understand that I don't want to want to waste my money, so I would appreciate all the suggestions/recommendations you guys can give me.

Thanks
-Roberto

Is there a way to "lock" my DCT in 3rd gear for say a dyno run or to datalog a 3rd gear pull 2500-7000 rpms? Every time I put it in M3 and floor it, it kicks down to 2nd. Thx

simply put, dont floor it. just reach all the way before the kick down. or like mentioned.. just buy the kick down blocker for like 30 bucks (idk cost)

Gotcha! It looks like a 5/16" block taped under the throttle pedal will keep it from downshifting.

I'll give it a try!
