Resetting Transmission Adaptations... Wow

So I randomly decided to try the process to reset the tranny adaptations, which some people claim is a "myth"...

One word, wow! I should have done this the day I bought my car!

Throttle is Waaaaay more responsive in D and the shifts are insanely smooth. I was used to having some pretty rough shifts up and down.

Now it's like butter, feels like a different car honestly!

Also some say this only works on ZF trannys FYI. Not sure about that, I do have a ZF, and it definitely worked!

Just thought I'd share with my fellow N/A brethren!

Please list the steps you used. I've tried this 3 or 4 times with zero success.

Any advantage for those of us that just drive in manual mode all the time?

I feel like it'll just make shifting smoother since it'll be completely wiped clean and it'll completely readjust to the way we drive. As if we bought a brand new car

Question

I've always wondered, would this matter for manual transmission cars?

My guess is that it will not make much of a difference, but maybe alter clutch engagement?

Key in, press start button(foot off brake), Floor the gas pedal and hold it for at least 30 seconds(used a timer on my phone, longer than you think), release gas pedal, press start button(again without foot on brake), wait a minute or so, Start car like normal. MIGHT ONLY WORK WITH ZF TRANNY I HAVE HEARD.

I have not noticed any difference in the manual shift mode.

No there is no transmission computer in manual cars, that duty is handled by your left foot and your right hand.

I have a ZF trans but never felt any difference when I did this. maybe I'll try again.

Try a CDV delete for improved manual shifting. I noticed a difference when I did mine.

Placebo effect got to you OP, doesn't work. If you want to reset adaptation and knowing it did 100% get someone that can read error codes and reset through the OBDII.

Definitely not placebo, if it was placebo how would all of my rough shifts just magically not happen anymore? I've had this car for a year and this was the first time I tried this. So trust me, I know how my car felt and it IS noticeably different.

Wrong. My car with the OFT quickly loses its snappy feeling after a few drives. I guess my computer adapts too fast? When I do that throttle reset procedure the difference is INSANELY noticeable
