EDIT: I don't know how reliable the bmwfans.info parts database is, but they have:

Chrome stock knob 25 11 7 547 083: 80g

Chrome sport knob 25 11 0 404 454: 160g (Weight probably includes boot, looking at drawing, knob only est. 98 g)
Leather sport knob 25 11 0 406 895: 160g (Weight probably includes boot, looking at drawing, knob only est. 98 g)

E46 ZHP M-sport knob 25 11 7 896 031: 150g

M-sport knob 25 11 8 036 628: 240g (This weight probably includes the boot, the stock shift boot weighs 62g so that puts the M-sport knob around 172g assuming all this is correct and the M-sport boot weighs around the same as the stock shift boot)

BMW Performance knob 25 11 0 429 269: 180g

I have heard conflicting information between these two

1) Leather sport knob # 25 11 0 406 895
2) M-sport knob # 25 11 8 036 628

some say they are the same knob except one is perforated and one isn't. To settle this once and for all- I have ordered both of these and will compare them side by side. Pics to follow. I cannot decide which I want so hopefully a direct comparison will solve that. I will be selling the other if anyone is interested...

I'm very interested in the perforated leather M shift knob, but I'm seeing 2 different part numbers. Are they the same thing?

ECS Tuning selling it with part number 25118036628, same as listed in first post of this thread

I just installed the momo short anatomic all leather shift knob in my e92. The grain on the leather matches nicely with the stock boot and the knob is only very slightly darker than the leather of the boot due to the newer leather. It sits on a black base that gives the entire center a uniform look. I suspect that once it's been exposed to light the knobs leather will fade slightly and match near perfect. It has no shift pattern, something I really wanted for a cleaner look IMO. The knob itself fits great in my hand and it has a good weight at 5.5 oz. Hopefully the leather stands up to daily use. I just have to figure out how to get the boot to sit a little closer to the black base of knob itself.

I have the exact same question. Did you happen to figure out the difference in the two?

No I did not figure it out, I ended up getting just the knob from a forum member. Had to file off some clips and there's a slight offset where it meets the boot but good enough for me.

Does anyone know if the older short version of the E46 m-sport ZHP knob will cause problems with a pre-LCI iDrive controller? I'm afraid that my arm will keep hitting the controller while I drive which would be extremely annoying.

I have the E46 ZHP knob in my E90 with I-drive and there is no problem whatsoever. Had it for over 5 years like that.

I am looking to get confirmation on fitment of the BMW Leather Sport Gear shift knob/boot on E92 (09+).

Some websites (like circle BMW) say that the knob/boot wont fit on the E92, yet others (like getBMWparts) don't mention anything.

I really like the look of the (compared to the M-Sport perf leather, to match the steering wheel), but wanted to confirm before i purchase... if it doesn't fit, I'll have to go with the ZHP knob.

please let me know.

My '09 E92 has that perforated shift knob but with the 6spd M emblem as part of the factory installed M Sport package. So it should fit.
