Cobb and Dinan?

I currently have a Dinan Stage II tune on my 2011 335i. I am considering picking up a Cobb v3 and getting a Proton done by PTF.

Does anyone know if I need to remove my Dinan tune or can the Cobb simply run over the Dinan just as it would run over a stock car programming?

I am hoping a Proton will be beneficial over the Dinan. I am told that PTF will likely add about 20hp over the Dinan along with some other property changes.

Also looking at a sport cat type DP to go along with it.

A dyno tune will definitely bring more HP/TQ than the Dinan Stage 2.

You'll need to completely remove the Dinan tune first. And you should consider MHD instead of Cobb.

Dinan reflashes the computer with its software. Cobb reflashes the computer with its software. So whatever software was in the computer before the reflash is gone after the reflash.

When you uninstall Cobb, it puts the stock software back in place. It cannot put the Dinan software back in place because of encryption. You'll need to go to a Dinan dealer to have it reflashed.

You CAN use a JB4 with Dinan software, because JB4 doesn't reflash the computer. It modifies signals into and out of the computer.
