Random Revving on N54
Hey Guys, I have a 1M (N54) that does this random revving after the car has been sitting a while. I drive the car very infrequently so I can't comment too much about different conditions. With that said, I drove it 3 months ago and it did this - and then went away. The next few days I drove it, several hundred miles, and no issues. Car just sat about 2 months, and now it's doing it again. It's not bad gas.
What is frustrating, besides there not being a CEL, is the car is scary to drive in the sense that you'll pull into a parking spot and the car will rev and lurch forward. Really want to get this resolved asap. Any insight is appreciated!

even though you dont see a CEL codes are logged,
Get a BMW specific scanner and scan the codes. Is rough idle condition seems to be pretty common with these cars.. Could be caused by many different reasons including bad MAF sensor and O2 sensor.. valvetronic motor issues and other reasons you need codes to guide you |

The 1M has an extended warranty on the injectors and HPFP due to issues.
I'm going to take it in when I return home to have a shop take a look at it. I dread driving it over there!
