i'm in the same place as u...i'd like a tune in the near future. Dinan is overpriced and underpowered. I'd have a look at JB4 or Cobb. when i was lookin into a tune i was leaning towards Cobb cuz its really easy to take on and off. also join r FB group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/BMW.alberta/ we may be having a meet in red deer with some calgary and edmonton people. u should come out if ur free!

14k a year sounds like your driving record is like mine lmao. . . Best advice would be to take the defensive driving course($100) offered by AMA which will deduct 3 demerits off your license and then take drivers education($750 I think) which normally youths take, but taking the classroom sessions and in car testing will get you 30% off your early insurance and give you a better driver/risk assessment to the insurance companies. That's what I did anyways. . . it was well worth while and you learn some things.

Some of us in the Facebook group are planning an Edmonton + Calgary meet in red deer. Everyone is welcome to join. Here's the link to the fb group. There's a poll to decide which weekend (either second or third week in October)

Hey noticed it's kinda quiet around here these days!
2012 has been a busy year for me, with starting a new business and throwing every last penny into it, but I'd like to become more active again in 2013. Nothing changed for my car this year, but I'm hoping to go upgraded turbos in the spring.. time to take this old beast into the 500rwhp range! FFTEC looks interesting, but I'm thinking of upgraded twins, either RB or Vargas. Anybody else here gone the upgraded turbo route yet? |

I have not done this but am also looking at upgraded twins in Q1 of the new year. I have been following the development of the Vargas turbos but I will likely end up getting RB's as those have proven to make good numbers and be reliable time and time again. Are you planning on doing the install yourself or getting a shop to do it?

Aaron in Saskatoon. I don't see a Sask members thread so wouldn't mind joining the E-town posse. I'm just starting to mod my 335 xi. I have the coding cable but am a bit of a noob. Anyone in E-town or close to Saskatoon able to help with coding? PM if able or if you know someone who can do it. There's beer in it for you

Hey guys, Ok looking at tuning my car again, now I did have a Cobb AP for a bit on my car but at the time my car was having a few issues so i ditched it and now I regreat that,
So i am debating JB4 or another Cobb, the Cobb was easy to install worked well, but i also hear good things about JB4. With the JB4 the install scares me a little as i dont really wanna risk messing up anything in the ecu, as well as i dont have a labtop to data log with, Whats your opinions? car is stock right now, Last edited by Phantom 335i; 01-30-2013 at 01:58 PM.. |

Heads up - there are going to be a few goodies up for sale here soon once I have cleaned them up.
I traded my car for a M3; sad to see the 335i go, it has served me well; the torque with meth injection will never be forgotten! Up for grabs will be: 1) N54 JB4 (sorry no USB, left it in the car!) 2) BMS FSB Meth Kit (trunk mount). Will likely need some new tubing. 3) ER Charge Pipe + Tial Q bov 4) Stock charge pipe / DVs 5) 4 wheels/tires: VMR V718: 18x9.5 & 18x8.5 With Achillies ATR Sport (265/35R18 & 235/40R18). 6) BMS DCI 7) A few other bits .. need to check garage this weekend. A note on the Achillies tires -- they might be budget tires, but they are way more grippy than the stock RFTs!! Not sure on pricing yet. It'll be reasonable, need a couple of days to get everything together. Will try to sell locally first! Last edited by bigup; 01-30-2013 at 08:59 PM.. |
