221?!?! for an O2 Sensor? I dont want to go to the dealership for that reason. Im sure someone sells them for around 80-100 a piece. ??
What were the codes you were getting? Im getting p2270 p2272 p2096 and p2098.... All rear O2 codes but only come on when Im cursing at 80 MPH on the highway for about 15 minutes..... |

well I dont know what to tell you... I just went to the parts dept and bought one... You dont have to let them look at it just ask for one... But Im pretty sure you wont find one cheaper unless you know someone with a hook up... Ive gone through 2
I was getting codes that read bank 2 sensor 1 stuck lean... random... but I could feel the car miss firing at low rpm's...

It's going to be either #1-#2-#4-#5 in that link depending on which one u need replaced. Last time i checked, i think Tischer sells them for about $180 a piece. If you happen to find them cheaper somewhere, let me know. |

replaced one for my Honda (obviously it's not a BMW), and it was $57. But yes, I agree $200 is quite a bit for an 02 sensor....
but it's a BMW...not a Honda.... so yeah....

Often times you can find out exactly who makes your O2 sensor and what model it is, and more than likely that same O2 sensor is used in another car... A much cheaper one. And if you buy the O2 sensor for that car (presumably cheaper) then you can just splice in the wires.
For example, I found out that a 1990 302 Mustang's O2 sensor fit my mercedes, so I just got that O2 and spliced it into the Mercedes connector. Went from $120 to $39 and an extra 10 minutes of install time.
